"Later he was again hit, this time in the helmet. He sat down and had a cigarette, then went back to his position."

Just damn! Those Gurkhas sure know how to fight!

God bless the British and God bless the Gurkhas -

I thank God that they are on our side; they are truly great fighting men!

"Have no doubt, we are going to win."

Al-Beebo's trying to report us out of it.

Hai Ghurka!

"We are being restrained." You better believe it, Jack.

The Gurkhas were fighting in Afghanistan for the British in the 1800s.

I see that the Gurkhas are still mighty fighters. Good for them!

If the Ghurkhas are used properly, the enemy will find out what other enemies found out: That the Ghurkhas are badd-assed fearfull warriors. they are adept at the use of the Ghurkha knife (specially curved for dis-embowling) the chi-coms feared them in Korean war.

Am I right in saying that former Guhrkas have no pension form the UK government? It was the case until recently. A scandal.

Never fight with a man whose lungs were formed at 20,000 feet.

The Gurkhas are reknown for being tenacious fighters.

The Ghurka knife is known as a "Kukhri", is that correct?

Anyway: 100 confirmed dead vs 3 injuries: an awesome display from the Ghurkas. And Coalition forces are getting better adjusted to the battlespace all the time.

Well, the khukuri is just a basic tool used for woodclearing and even cooking along with killing. The curve just helps it deliver more force (from what I've read), kinda like a hatchet or axe.

Otherwise, I agree with your assessment.

That knife is called a "Kukri" and their motto is "Better to die than to be a coward".

Anyone that might be interested in the Gurkhas should read, "The Gurkhas", by John Parker.

I have suggested in the past that they are an asset that we have not taken advantage of in our war on terror. The Brits have been retiring their units just due to a shrinking military. The Brits should help us become their patron.

Perhaps then it is time to pay them the same as other UK Soldiers.

Huh? The Afghan Taliban are also high altitude folk. Are you suggesting we give up?

God bless the Gurkhas. I think the Taliban need to see some of these in action. They will then leave the Gurkhas alone.
