A posting of an unredacted instant message sessions between Rep. Mark Foley and a former congressional page has apparently exposed the identity of the now 21 year-old accuser...
ABC RELEASED TRANSCRIPT OF ONE CHAT BETWEEN FOLEY AND A MAN WHO WAS 18 AT THE TIME OF THE INSTANT MESSAGE EXCHANGE.... NETWORK STATED THE MESSAGE WAS TO 'UNDER AGE' TEEN... DEVELOPING...
ABC ONLINE GLITCH LEADS TO IDENTITY OF FOLEY ACCUSER; FEATURED IM EXCHANGE WAS WITH 18 YEAR OLD

Once again, media colluding with dems to impact a free and fair election by the people. Brian Ross should be fired; his corrections in his report aren't good enough. They should have a breaking news headline: BRIAN ROSS CAUGHT IN BED WITH DNC
I hope someone is archiving all this so ABC can't just make it go away.
link please!
Try scrolling waaaaaay down if you get the banner page at all. There is a lot of white space for some reason.
It matters a whole lot that he was an adult but I'm still glad Foley stepped down because it doesn't take away the fact that his lifestyle and conduct is inappropriate.
Good point.
Or that he's just a garden-variety homosexual.
He is a) a Boomer, and b) may have a living mother.
Look at the great lengths Liberace and Rock Hudson went to hide their sexuality.
It isn't like Foley is an MTV "Real World" Gen X homo.
Hopefully the man will find God
Yes, well, Brian Ross better be on the phone to his lawyers trying to figure out a way to transfer what he owns into someone else's name before the lawsuits are filed.
No - the story has taken a new turn. This means ABC did not verify information before it ran the story - did not even ascertain the age of the IM'er. "ABC: Journalistic standards? We don't need no stinkin' journalistic standards!"
If he didn't give them the IMs, I would think they would already be in trouble, because for sure Foley didn't give it to them, and it's got to be illegal to publish people's private e-mails.
Edmond is a playa', and PhiKapMom has the scoop on the previous thread.

The story is from 2004 and details the life of one of Foley's aides...uneventful story, but you'll notice near the bottom that her previous job was working in the office of Ernest Istook, who just happens to be the guy whom our e-mail friend is working for. Do you think that's a coincidence?
This is all musing, but I bet that Foley was being blackmailed by this kid. Everything about him makes him look like hes a "politician" sort of guy...always calculating. I can see it clearly:
"Hey Congressman, I was looking for a job with Istook's office"
"Well, I don't know if I can do that..."
"You know its funny, I found some crazy IM convos from a few years ago!"
"Done."
I agree with the resignation however the big story is how why he was accused now right before an election by the Dems to supress the Conservative turn out.... That needs to be screamed out loud by the GOP because this hypocrisy should serve to move the Conservatives... See the evil we are up against.
