We are the energy behind the path to jihad, Abu Omar said proudly. Just like the jihadis reached their target on Sept. 11, we will reach ours through the Internet.
Abu Omar, 28, is part of an increasingly sophisticated network of contributors and discussion leaders helping to wage Al Qaedas battle for Muslim hearts and minds. A self-described Qaeda sympathizer who defends the Sept. 11 attacks and continues to find inspiration in Osama bin Ladens call for jihad, Abu Omar is part of a growing army of young men who may not seek to take violent action, but who help spread jihadist philosophy, shape its message and hope to inspire others to their cause.
Though he does not appear to be directly connected to Al Qaeda, Abu Omar does seem to be on a direct e-mail list for groups sympathetic to Al Qaeda, making him a link in a chain that spreads the organizations propaganda using code and special software to circumvent official scrutiny of their Internet activity.

The NY Times must be deviating from their "poverty causes terrorism" schtick to let the great internet jihad into print...
There are FReepers that are such tireless apologists for Muslim atrocities that I'm nearly convinced they are part of an organization just like the one described in the paragraph above.

NYT is rooting for our enemies.
Isn't that the exact strategy the Democrats have been using since MoveOn dot org was founded?

Well, Zarqawi used to read the Los Angeles Times.
You can hear him talking about it here:

I wonder if Abu Omar reads the New York Times?
I did not read the entire article by Mr. Fattah. I assume he's a NYT employee and some where in there will be the required "It's Bush's fault, it's the USA's fault" -- all backed up with -- yes, ANONYMOUS! -- sources. It's what the NYT's employees do.
But wait! When you write glowingly of our enemies -- not the NYT's -- you can get real people from among them to quote, I see.
I guess. It's only when the NYT needs "proof" that the USA is all bad that the NYT frequently depends upon ANONYMOUS sources (ANONYMOUS Sources, Inc.).
