So, this correction appears in the Martinsville Bulletin.
When will it appear on ABC, with a full retraction and apology?
Allowed or not, I'll tell you this, no way I'd be driving a rig without a full auto in the cab and a few revolvers too.
I think its crazy to expect someone to be driving in that situation without a weapon.
Also, this occurred one year ago.
Don't hold your breath waiting for that
You beat me to it, there is NO WAY I would I pull that duty without some means of defending myself. If I am going to get shot at, I will certainly be returning fire. Sorry to those who were killed, no-one deserves that.
I saw the video on tv. Oh, yeah, scared but never stops taping and he sure is using it now for his 15 minutes of fame to insult our military. Jerk!
More info. Military did their job!
I seriously doubt any Freeper will live long enough to see the day that happens--but hopefully there will be no such thing as news from ABC, CBS, or NBC in the next decade.
Maybe it will, on that ABC News show that comes on at about 3 or 4 AM, just before the commercial, maybe some time in mid November.
The Army investigation is a lie. I was at the base that convoy was heading to, Camp McKenzie, now closed. The Army escorts DID NOT FIRE BACK! They pulled their crew served weapons into their armored Humvees and waited for the QRF to arrive. One of the Sergeants in the QRF told me this and it was corroborated by several other NCO's on the QRF. The Army convoy commander had never been to McKenzie and got lost. There is a cardinal rule when heading to McKenzie, "Never turn south onto the Al Jabouri Peninsula". There is no place to turn around, it's a dead end and it's full of Sunni insurgents. Nobody at McKenzie, either KBR or the Army knew this convoy was coming! If that had been known, the Army unit stationed there would have been in the town, guiding them through and providing a protective overwatch. The name of the town is not Samarra, it's Ad Duluiyah and it's a hell hole. Don't blame Halliburton or KBR, they go where the Army tells them to go. Blame poor leadership and incompetence on the Army's part. Halliburton and KBR care deeply about their employees. The KBR driver at the rear without a trailer was driving up and down the road trying to distract and run over any insurgents attacking his convoy. You want a hero? He's the one.

The military investigation found that individuals at the front of the convoy reacted as they were taught by pushing forward and getting out of the kill zone of the ambush, Martin-Hing wrote.
I was just guessing (non-military), but it looks like I was right. God Bless our TROOPS.
Another out of the loop expert, imo.
Ooop's!
preder = prefer
Never a doubt in MY mind! :-)

I'm sure that I speak for both of us, and correct me if I'm wrong, but.....I would be most happy to pull that duty if I did have some means of defending myself.
I'm no longer young enough to be of value to our armed forces, but; if there is anyone from Haliburton reading this, give me a call.
