US Senator George Allen is responding to more allegations of racist behavior.
The latest comes from a former college teammate.
Former teammate Doctor Ken Shelton says, "Allen said he came to Virginia because he wanted to play football in a place where 'blacks knew their place.'"
"He used the N-word on a regular basis back then," said Shelton, who was in Salon.com.
During a hunting outing with Allen and another teammate, Shelton says Allen drove the three to a black neighborhood and "he proceeded to take the doe's head and stuff it into a mailbox."
Bishop Gerald Glenn says he used to see Allen as a Confederate flag waving redneck and has talked to the senator about his perception problem in the African American community.
While the two still disagree on key issues, Glenn says assassinating Allen's character does nothing for the voters of Virginia.
Allen told reporters today that he and Doctor Shelton weren't close and haven't spoken to each other in more than 30 years. Other teammates have released statements saying they've never heard Allen use racial slurs.
Allen's approval rating is down in the latest poll released today by SurveyUSA. The poll was taken last week, so the numbers do not reflect possible reaction to the Salon.com article.

I want to see this man retain his Senate seat, but as the Senate now stands I would hate to see anyone of that sorry 100 become the next President. The only Senator of either party who might be an exception is Senator Jeff Sessions.
Thank you for the sentiment, although this is my second username. My other one was destroyed in what I considered a minor tussle with one of the mods. Apparently being on here a while gives you no protection from short-tempered mods.
I'm not sure this is the same FR I originally signed on to some years ago, but it still is a good resource.
Deer Head In Mailbox
Several people in Hoke County got a surprise when they opened up their mailbox on Saturday. Deer parts were inside. One lady found a deer head, while others found hooves and legs. The Hoke County [NC] Sheriff’s Department investigated and discovered that a local teen had committed the crime, thinking it would be a great prank. None of the families pressed charges however as the teen agreed to replace all the boxes and apologize.
It sounds invented to me based on a recent report that Shelton read somewhere else.

Do you have reading comprehension difficulties? Where did I say I believed the accusation? What I do know is Allen called someone a macaca in public. Since the guy he called macaca wasn't white, Allen's done. He could have coasted to re-election and planned for '08 if had been at all careful.
Once you're kicked out you're supposed to stay out unless the owner let's you back in. I'll let JimRob know you're back and you think it's worse than a few years ago. I'm sure he'll be pleased to have you back, especially after you have such nice things to say about his moderators (rolls eyes).
