I had always wished that the Hood Blimp would eject Hoodsies out of a cannon on the side. It used to fly over my place in Peabody.
I guess a hoodsie falling from 3000 ft. would not be the best idea but I will do anything for free icecream.

whdh.com (Ch 7 Boston) has short clip, 12 seconds...shows it in a bunch of trees, "no injuries reported"

I can hear Jesse Jackson now, screaming "Get out da hood, get out da hood!" to the pilot.

cbs4boston.com says actually it crashed in Manchester-by-the-Sea, next town over. Maybe nr border... yeah I was anticipating those Hindenburg jokes!
>>The Hood Blimp, a fixture in the sky over the Boston area, crash landed in the woods in Manchester-By-The-Sea Tuesday afternoon.
CBS4 has learned the pilot lost control of the rudder, then tried to beach the blimp, but ended up landing on several trees.
The pilot appears to be o.k. He is now in the process of deflating the blimp so it can be removed.

The press will milk this for all it's worth.
