I'm sorry this is election politicing plain and simple. Notice how there's no democrat chance for any press conferences with national exposure on WOT/National Security issues. It's all an Administration scam to sway the voters!
/sarcasm.

Hopefully the excecution of Bin Ladin! (You've seen how well the trial of Saddam is going. I wish we had just dropped a couple of grenades down his spider hole!)

I saw a CNN interview with Karzi where the news reader kept trying to get Karzi to say that fighting in Iraq was detracting from "the War on Terror in Afghanistan". Karzi resisted. Finally the reporter said something to the effect of, "if you had more money and more resources which is now being spent in Iraq, wouldn't that help?" Karzi, ever the politician of course finally conceded that more money would be a good thing. Terribly biased interview - CNN, of course.

First question to Karzai:
"Do you think the presence of U.S. troops in your country is increasing terrorism?"

Karzai is going to kick...their....asses.
In the press conference.
David Gregory should be the first one to get a smack across his jowls. Bring it on (20 minutes and counting).

I heard Cooper on CNN last night lead off with the NIE bull ("if we fight, we'll only make them angry!").
The follow on 'story' was about the supposed plague of military recruiters preying on young women, "some as young as 14" the announcement had to add.
These people a pure, treasonous scum.

Sarah Chayes had revealing things to say about Karzai on C-span the other day. One wonders why politicians seem incapable of appointing people of such ability to posts that really matter. She has intimate, on-going experience of the problems festering and growing in Afghanistan.

I saw that...I think the interviewer said...Would 300 billion dollars make a difference?
Karzai was excellent. He said...like it was a miracle...We have roads, we have children in school....

I'm surprised the reporter didn't just slip him money to try and get him to say what he wanted... Oh that's right - it's done with book contracts now.
