September 25, 2006 -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday accused Bill Clinton of making "flatly false" claims that the Bush administration didn't lift a finger to stop terrorism before the 9/11 attacks. Rice hammered Clinton, who leveled his charges in a contentious weekend interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News Channel, for his claims that the Bush administration "did not try" to kill Osama bin Laden in the eight months they controlled the White House before the Sept. 11 attacks.
"The notion somehow for eight months the Bush administration sat there and didn't do that is just flatly false - and I think the 9/11 commission understood that," Rice said during a wide-ranging meeting with Post editors and reporters.

This man used to be protected by the media. Seems those days are dwindling down to a precious few.
She's the perfect one to deliver this message. We need to get her out more making the Administration's case for...well pretty much everything FP related. She's done the big things, but she hasn't been part of the daily sale.

Yes, and this is most troubling. I'd regard anything that Clarke said in the past3 years as less reliable than what he said prior to his book's publication. The real legacy building here has been Clarke building his own. Clarke, not Condi, should have responded to Clinton's false claims. But in true Richard Armitage fashion, he has remained silent as lies run wild.
Has Clarke said anything about the interview? Has the MSM pursued him to provide a further defense of Clinton? No way. They've read Clarke's book and know that Clinton's use of it in defense of his actions is seriously flawed.

Actually, you do NOT get it yet either, do you? The reason Clinton is trying to focus on BS like his "outrage" is to keep you from putting it all together.
The purpose of the 9/11 Commission was to muddy the waters, to let people like Jamie Gorelick do your thinking for you and more importantly, thinking for the media.
What Clinton is REALLY worried about is for people to start looking at the precursors to 9/11, the terrorists acts in America that YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT.

You'll see the JFK assassination is one of them, but two of the more recent ones not listed are the 1995 OKC Federal Building Bombing, and the 1996 TWA 800 Missile Shootdown of an airliner.
Now, the ones I listed above all have a common thread, and that is a democrat President CONTROLLED in the White House.
Not to repeat myself too much, but for simple arguement, let's assume that Bubba got the call that the Federal Building in OKC had been bombed. Let's also assume that Bubba's first words spoken were: "I hope it's NOT Middle Eastern Terrorists!"
Only problem is: IT was Middle Eastern Terrorists and I believe that Bubba was quoted as saying just that.
Now Bubba is a smart man, he immediately recognized that 1994 was a political disaster with Congress now being controlled by Republicans.
To win the election in 1996, He couldn't let YOU know that terrorists killed hundreds in an OKC bombing or he'd have to go to war in Iraq, he's have to defend a Federal Government who LET IT HAPPEN. (I know, you still don't believe that Iraq was tied to the 1993 WTC bombing, but be patient, you will eventually).
Now, how could anyone believe that Iraq was tied to OKC, especially with the NY SLIMES forever telling us Iraq didn't do it, or anything else, much.....? Ever hear of Jayna Davis' book "THE THIRD TERRORIST"?
How is it that she documents dozens of people seeing McVeigh and Nichols togeather with Iraqis in OKC? How is that she submits sworn statements from American Citizens that detail
Iraqi false defectors from Gulf War I?
How is it that experts say that the truck bomb wasn't big enough to destroy the federal building?
How is it that a lawyer's office across the street had his windows blown out, but a building not that much farther from the bomb only had the windows blown out?
How is that seismic traces showed MULTIPLE EXPLOSIONS?
How is that a Federal Investigation concluded McVeigh and Nichols acted all ALONE?

The final policy paper on national security that President Clinton submitted to Congress — 45,000 words long — makes no mention of al Qaeda and refers to Osama bin Laden by name just four times.

My estimation on Mr. Barber's value to the show just plummeted. He sounded very much like he was entering Julian Phillips' territory.
John Ashcroft was held up, that I know for sure. Also, Louis Freeh resigned and Mueller didn't take over as FBI head until September 10.
Clinton reminded us why we do not need another Clinton in the White-house, while Dr. Rice showed her volunteer supporters why in their hearts they are right to work their butts off for her to enter the fray in 08'.
Clinton damaged his wife's chances in the interview while the Rice interview shows thoughtful leadership with an enormously multifaceted problem. Who would you rather have at the helm?
