Giffords (D) leads Graf (R) in early polling (AZ-08, Giffords up 12)

It's set to be one of the most watched races in the November elections and it's rooted right here in Southern Arizona. It's a race guaranteed to capture the eyes of the nation.

News 4 has partnered with the Arizona Daily Star to conduct a tracking poll in which we asked likely voters a number of questions related to the Congressional District 8 race and the candidates.

600 likely voters in Arizona Congressional District 8 took part in a survey, which was conducted from September 16 - 19, 2006 by 1 to 1 Direct and Marketing Intelligence.

The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4%.

Giffords (D) 48%
Graf (R) 36%
Undecided 13%

Giffords' lead is outside of the margin of error; Graf would have to capture nearly all of the undecided vote to catch up.

You have NOT shown Graf is a Buchananite, but you demand that I prove a negative and show he is not?

I'm just asking you a simple question. But I think you know the answer and don't want to tell me.

No, you are asking me to prove a negative. You are as dishonest as they come on FR.

You made the allegation - you back it up. Asking me to disprove YOUR allegation is akin to Mary Mapes doing the same against critics of the forged TANG memos - and for the exact same reason - both cover up underlying intellectual depravity.

"I have not alleged that Graf IS a Buchananite. I keep asking you IF he is a Buchananite. Do you understand the difference?

You cannot even keep your lies straight - post number 74:

"I keep asking you if Graf is a Buchananite. Given your repeated evasion of the question, I take it that your answer is yes."

And where in this exchange or elsewhere do I actually allege that he is a Buchananite? You are the one implicitly confirming this by repeatedly refusing to answer a very simple question. Not me.

You are thoroughly confused, dude. Take a breath. I haven't asked you to prove anything. I am simply asking whether you think Graf is a Buchananite. I'm not asking you to justify your answer.

Yet again, you cannot even keep your own lies straight. From Post #7

From what very little I know, he is a Buchananite wolf in GOP sheep's-clothing.

And when challenged on your mendacity, you pull a Mapes and demand I prove a negative. And the fact that you persist in both this line of attack and demanding I prove a negative shows just how depraved you are here.

You are using FR to launch a Dem-talking attack against a GOP nominee. Despicable.

You won't get an honest answer.

Look, I'm not going to argue with you about what I actually said. Anyone who cares can check this thread for himself or herself. I repeatedly asked you a simple question, which you refuse to answer. Instead, you mischaracterize this exchange and then engage in insulting a straw man. This, too, is easily checkable.

You said this.

From what very little I know, he is a Buchananite wolf in GOP sheep's-clothing.

And then claimed this:

And where in this exchange or elsewhere do I actually allege that he is a Buchananite?

In other words, you lied. But I'll give you credit, you did it in a very Clintonistic way - the mealy-mouthed post to get the allegation in ("from what little I know") and then the non-denial denial ("And where in this exchange or elsewhere do I actually allege") - you don't say you didn't state such, which gives you yet another out.

Ronald Reagan. Calvin Coolidge. George W. Bush on counterterrorism and national security issues. Dick Cheney on all issues. UN Ambassador John Bolton. Dick Armey. Donald Rumsfeld. The types of Presidents and Senators who nominate and confirm judges like Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, and Sam Alito.

Ronald Reagan

You mean the same Ronald Reagan - the inventor of the 11th Commandment? You know, the dictim that what you are doing here to a GOP nominee should not be done?

Reagan understood that once the primaries are over, it's time to close ranks behind the winners. You apparently can't do that.

Anyone who favors open borders. It helps if they're very conservative on other issues like Sam Brownback is, then it makes it easier to justify the support but it's not necessarily a prerequisite. Just as long as they're in agreement we should do nothing on illegal immigration but capitulate to amnesties and guest worker programs then they're the ideal Republican and not a nasty Buchananite.

Well, I did say "from what little I know, he is a Buchananite wolf in GOP's sheep's clothing." But that's more a question in my mind than a statement, even if you misunderstood it as the latter. Perhaps I should have said "may be" instead of "is." But my subsequent posts make crystal clear that "may be" is what I intended and actually meant.

That's why I keep asking you if you think he is a Buchananite. Let's try asking it one last time. Is he, in your opinion?

More weasel words. You made it as a statement, not a question. You're sounding more and more like Clinton - after all, "is" WAS in your initial allegation.

That's why I keep asking you if you think he is a Buchananite.

You're the one making the allegation. You back it up with a positive that he is. The fact that you won't means you don't have jack.

I'm fine with supporting genuine GOPers. Is Mr. Graf a genuine GOPer or a Buchananite wolf wearing an elephant suit?

I don't recall Reagan making such a distinction. And, once again, put up or shut up. You made the allegation, back it up.

The fact is that I don't know, one way or the other. I do have a suspicion, but it isn't yet knowledge. Does that help you any?

Yeah, that means you should rebuke your post #7 and stop insinuating that Graf is a Buchananite unless you have proof. And stay off Graf threads so that the people of Arizona are not getting false allegations from someone outside their state parroting Dem talking points.

I am a dumb hick from Texas. I can't help thinking that this guy may indeed be a Buchananite, especially given your refusal to enlighten me further. But again, I don't know that he is.
