Giffords (D) leads Graf (R) in early polling (AZ-08, Giffords up 12)
KVOA TV ^ | 25 September 2006 | News 4 Tuscon

It's set to be one of the most watched races in the November elections and it's rooted right here in Southern Arizona. It's a race guaranteed to capture the eyes of the nation.

News 4 has partnered with the Arizona Daily Star to conduct a tracking poll in which we asked likely voters a number of questions related to the Congressional District 8 race and the candidates.

600 likely voters in Arizona Congressional District 8 took part in a survey, which was conducted from September 16 - 19, 2006 by 1 to 1 Direct and Marketing Intelligence.

The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4%.

Giffords (D) 48%
Graf (R) 36%
Undecided 13%

Giffords' lead is outside of the margin of error; Graf would have to capture nearly all of the undecided vote to catch up.

Why don't you stop whining. This "outrage" about Kolbe withholding his support is funny to watch. Kolbe is GAY. Do you think his endorsement would hurt or help Graf? I would bet that if Kolbe had endorsed him, there would have been "true Conservative" heads exploding all over FR. He won the primary, he is the candidate and it is up to him to win he general. It is the responsibility of the national party to target resources to those candidates that have a chance of wining. It appears that the national RNC has looked at the numbers and have decided that Graf is too far down to win. I saw that the DNC has pulled ads from their candidate too so the playing field is level. Stop making excuses for him losing before he loses.

To be down by 12 (if that's the real number) just after a heated primary in which your own party's establishment opposed you isn't bad. Graf can win this thing. He has one month, and if he runs a great campaign, that may be enough.

Why don't you stop whining.

Why don't YOU get behind the GOP candidate? Do your postmortems after the election and quit throwing mud now.

I support GOPers. I don't support Buchananites. Where does Graf fit?

Graf IS THE GOP NOMINEE. Deal with it. Quit attacking him - the time for that was during the primary. YOUR GUY LOST. Now do like conservatives are told to do when the moderate wins, AND SUPPORT THE NOMINEE.

From what very little I know,

Would have been good to stop right there.

Oooh, that one's gonna leave a mark.

I fully support conservatives. Buchananites are left-wing, socialist wolves in GOP sheep's clothing. They are not "conservatives."

You must get dizzy spinning so fast.

Quit sliming Graf. He IS the GOP NOMINEE. DEAL WITH IT.

I understand that Graf is the GOP nominee. But is he also a Buchananite? That's a yes or no question. You do know what a trojan horse is, right?

This was your post #7:

From what very little I know, he is a Buchananite wolf in GOP sheep's-clothing.

So you know VERY LITTLE, but that doesn't stop your attack on Graf.

You said you support the GOP. GRAF IS THE GOP NOMINEE. Quit your dishonest slime campaign - this isn't about Graf being a Buchananite, it is about your attempts to sandbag Graf because you are opposed to the anti-illegal-immigration movement.

This is from an Arizona Dem blog - sounds just like your tactics here.

http://arizona.typepad.com/blog/2006/08/patrick_j_bucha.html

If the GOP mainstream wants to poke a stick in Graf's spokes, they should be highlighting his connection to Buchanan and ask Graf if he agrees with Buchanan's views subjects other than immigration.

You apparently have no problems doing the dirty work for the Dems, as long as you are sandbagging an anti-illegal-immigration conservative.

Well, if he is a Buchananite, I would have a HUGE problem with him. So do the vast majority of other GOPers and so does the RNC.

You sure do insist on carry the Dems' water, don't you?

Give it up. If you can't say anything good about Graf, just go elsewhere. You don't even LIVE in the district in question, let alone the state.

I keep asking you if Graf is a Buchananite. Given your repeated evasion of the question, I take it that your answer is yes. This would explain nicely why the RNC has apparently decided not to waste any money on his campaign. And if that's the reason, I fully approve. We already have enough tough races around the country involving genuine Republicans.

Ah, so the burden of proof is on me to prove a negative. YOU MADE THE ALLEGATION, YOU FRIGGIN' BACK IT UP.

This would explain nicely

What I have demonstrated is that you are insisting on carrying out a Dem-endorsed line of attack on Graf. You have NOT shown Graf is a Buchananite, but you demand that I prove a negative and show he is not?

Your true nature has been revealed, and it is ugly.

I live in the United States. The last thing I want to see is the Rats taking over the country because of idiots who nominate unelectable Buchananites instead of genuine Republicans. So, is Graf one of those unelectable Buchananites?

I have not alleged that Graf IS a Buchananite. I keep asking you IF he is a Buchananite. Do you understand the difference?

You made the allegation, YOU PROVE HE IS.

And he is the GOP nominee. Either get behind him or shut up. Quit engaging in Dem-endorsed talking points against a GOP nominee.

You cannot even keep your lies straight - post number 74:

I keep asking you if Graf is a Buchananite. Given your repeated evasion of the question, I take it that your answer is yes.

Once again, you made the allegation. YOU EITHER BACK IT UP OR RETRACT IT. You are being extremely dishonest here.
