It's set to be one of the most watched races in the November elections and it's rooted right here in Southern Arizona. It's a race guaranteed to capture the eyes of the nation.
News 4 has partnered with the Arizona Daily Star to conduct a tracking poll in which we asked likely voters a number of questions related to the Congressional District 8 race and the candidates.
600 likely voters in Arizona Congressional District 8 took part in a survey, which was conducted from September 16 - 19, 2006 by 1 to 1 Direct and Marketing Intelligence.
The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4%.
Giffords (D) 48%
Graf (R) 36%
Undecided 13%
Giffords' lead is outside of the margin of error; Graf would have to capture nearly all of the undecided vote to catch up.

And a Republican nominee at that. For some, apparently, it doesn't even matter if their allegations are substantiated. They will spew Dem talking points against the GOP nominee and not even care.
I've met Kolbe on 3 occassions and found him to be good person.
Kolbe's dislike for graf probably comes from him running against him in the 2004 primary.
I have never met him. Been on a plane with him, he had separate boarding.
The problem with Kolbe is not with him personally, but the poor job he has done representing Arizona CD8. Look at his congressional web page and see his list of accomplishments. For someone who has been in office 22 years it's damnably weak.
What tweaks conservatives and others is his lack of support for the Border Patrol by putting in riders in appropriations bills to hamstring the Border Patrol, his open support of Gay marriage, His open support of gays in the military, support of abortion, receiving funding and support from Soros, his illegal alien boyfriend, and not keeping campaign promises.
Policy wise, he may have been a pliant party soldier, the locals want something more from a representative and for someone who has been in office for over 20 years, it's a wonder he was able to run for so long without opposition.
