Krauthammer: Turning up Jewish (everyone is Jewish until proven otherwise)
Townhall ^ | 09/25/06 | Charles Krauthammer

Strange doings in Virginia. George Allen, former governor, one-term senator, son of a famous football coach and in the midst of a heated battle for re-election, has just been outed as a Jew. An odd turn of events, given the fact that his having Jewish origins has nothing to do with anything in the campaign and that Allen himself was oblivious to the fact until his 83-year-old mother revealed to him last month the secret she had kept concealed for 60 years.

He's only known since last month and this became an issue? Says more about the reporter than about him. What was he supposed to do, rush out and have a press conference about his mother's extremely personal decision?

"You might want to ammend that law. I keep Shabot, keep Kashrut, and keep all of the High Holy Days, so did rabbi Yeshua who I know to be the promised Mashiach. I'll bet you feel that last part excludes me, am I correct?"

I was told by a rabbi, "You're not Jewish, since your great-grandmother wasn't. Jewishness can only be passed down through the maternal line."

Suffice it to say that you are Jewish enough for Jim Webb to hate you.

Yes, for any non-Jews (only those seeking, really interested and wanting to ask) or interested Jewish people, see the following.

http://www.noachidechassid.com/news.php

Even many people who are not Jewish accept Orthodox Rabbinical authority and the 13 Principles of the Rambam. And we're still not Jewish. And we don't do the 7th Day as Jewish people do.

I know very little, but (for those who sincerely want to learn) there is much good information behind the links (and Rabbinical assistance in the closely moderated e-mail lists).

Yes, in fact that is exactly who I was talking about..

Rabbi Lapin

I've read he is a strong supporter of President Bush, and Tom DeLay -- and may have been the person who introduced Abramoff to DeLay.

Some folks tried to pin him to a scandle - but I don't believe it succeeded.

Oh, BTW, the e-mail lists that I mentioned are closed (for holidays) until after the month of Tishre (or Tishri--ends October 22nd). ...sorry that I'd forgotten about that. The lists will continue after that.

> Let's see, you believe in a different religion, so I exclude you from calling yourself a Jew...

Jesus Christ's lineage traced on both sides of His family to King David. He was recognized as the "King of the Jews" -- said so on His cross at Calvary. He is also recognized as King by all Christians.

It seems presumptuous of you, then, to exclude anyone who recognizes Jesus as their Messiah from being Jewish.

If that doesn't sit well, then perhaps the Jewish leadership of the time should have thought thru the long-term implications of Christ's crucifixion, before they condemned their King by right of lineal descent, one of their countrymen and co-religionists, to be nailed to the cross. A treasonous act if there ever was one.

...;) Seinfeld was awesome. Although, I think half the characters are catholic. I'm fairly sure George is. And I was under the impression Kramer was too....

You know, I never really thought about it!... I Thought - somehow - that Jerry and George were Jewish as well as both set of parents, same with uncle Leo, Newman...

Then I relized that I was simply assuming their religion just based on the show... how dumb of me :)... like when they had the baby's circuncicion that Kramer went nuts over it and Elaine was looking for a "moyo, mojo?" so I assume she was not jewish either... interesting..? I LOVE THAT SHOW AND STILL MAKES ME LAUGH... :)

Although I am sincere in my hope, I was only ribbing Julie due to her wish that Allen convert to Judaism.

I am not overly concerned with the final salvation of Israel for as Paul wrote: "All Israel will be saved."

"I'm confused. Any definitive opinion out there?"

Yes! I have some Jewish relatives by marriage with cousins or uncle or aunt. Love happens. When we get together it's to enjoy each other's company and have a nice visit. And play poker:):) There is an infatuation with democrats and communists about Jews. Democrats have been embarrassing Jews recently. They are supposed to be for social justice and equal rights permanently in lieu of everything else like staying alive.

The anti-semitism of the left has been noticed. The left is losing support from Jews. Socialists in Germany built ovens for them once and that won't happen again.

Adolf Hitler wrote words very similar to yours in Mein Kampf. He wrote and talked about his religion many times. It's interesting that you wish to advertise such history by recycling that myth.

From Volume One - A Reckoning
Chapter XI: Nation and Race
The best characterization is provided by the product of this religious education, the Jew himself. Of course, the latter made no secret of his attitude toward the Jewish people, and when necessary he even took to the whip to drive from the temple . . . In return, Chr[*]st was nailed to the cross, . . .

A certain ugly part of history continues to repeat. The Acts of Pilate were forgeries, as were many other attempts to lie about that Jew-hating Roman pagan.

And as for disseminated apocrypha on Hitler ("Table Talk," "Secret Conversations" and the like), those are notoriously incredible.

I missed this, Mel. I thought there was only one side on Jesus's family tree. Mary being a virgin and all that. So where does this "both sides" come from, Mel?
