A resurgent Taliban have threatened the 1000 new troops that the government has announced that it will send to Afghanistan.
During his recent visit to the US Polish Defense Minister Radoslaw Sikorski declared that 1,000 more troops will be sent to Afghanistan in response to a NATO call for restoring order in the area, which has faced intensified Taliban insurgency in the past few months. The declaration has met with an immediate response of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan web portal, which issued an appeal to the Polish parliament and nation. The Taliban rebels do not threaten terrorist attacks directly, but they want to compel Poland to rethink further dispatching of the troops.
The Polish secret service is investigating the warning, but experts claim that nothing serious is happening. Artur Golawski of the Polska Zbrojna defence magazine admits that such threats should not be ignored, but they have to be treated for what they are, whereas withdrawing Polish troops is out of question:
Poland itself has not been directly affected by terrorists yet. However, since it has been engaged in military actions in both Afghanistan and Iraq, the country has always taken into account a possible terrorist attack. General Stanislaw Koziej, an expert on security from the Military Training Academy in Warsaw says that the country is better prepared for possible threats with all security services working far more efficiently now:
So far we can feel safe but the nature of terrorism is that we should always be prepared for the worst. I think that Poland is one of the main places in the world which could be attacked by terrorists. One of the reasons is that the country is one of the important partners of the US who are serious opponents for terrorists.
Since all kind of web pages, like the one operated by Russias Chechen separatists, are constantly monitored by the Polish secret service, the terrorists were absolutely sure that the warnings would be noticed.
This must be a mistake - or an outright lie.
I've been watching on TV for close to two weeks now:
Islam is a Great and Peaceful Faith, and it's only liars like Pope Benedict XVI who - at the bidding of Bush and the Zionists - would dare to suggest that Muslims are really violent, aggressive, unreasonable, irrational maniacs, respecting neither human freedom nor the common norms of decency.
/end of sarcasm
The Americans handed the Taliban their asses. Then the Canadians did the same thing. So the Taliban think, well maybe those Poles won't be so tough, we'll try them next. Big mistake.
Stick it to 'em, Poland!
Jan Sobieski ping!
For Roman Catholics it's a banner month to celebrate past defeats of Islamo-fascists and to hope (and pray) for a repeat in the near future:
September 12: The Holy Name of Mary, celebrating the victory - which you linked to - of King Jan Sobieski of Poland over the Muslims at the very gates of Vienna in 1683. The feast was dropped from the Calendar at the time of Vatican II and quietly restored by John Paul II the year after the 9/11 attacks.
September 24: Our Lady of Mercy (originally: Our Lady of Ransom), celebrating Saint Peter Nolasco's founding of the Mercedarian Order (the Trinitarian Order was also founded around this time and along these lines) to recruit people who would vow themselves not only to the traditional evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience, but also to offer themselves for the ransom of Christians held hostage or in slavery by Muslims.
October 7: Our Lady of the Rosary, established by Pope St. Pius V in thanksgiving for the victory of Christian forces over the Islamic naval force at the Battle of Lepanto (October 7, 1571).
Writer Pietro DeMarco has it exactly right:
At the end of the brief and sterile time spent in the squares, the Muslim world will need to look at its reflection, constructively, in the spiritual and historical gaze of a pope who, for the sake of the truth and loyalty of the encounter, has wished to assume the risks of both the useful misunderstanding of his words, and their hostile comprehension.

Poles well remember medieval history, when Islamic hordes repeatedely raped, robbed, and murdered Poland starting in 1241 and on, until king Sobieski finally broke Muzzies neck at battle of Vienna in 1689. The true image of Islam, and threat Islam presents is deeply embedded in Polish history, traditions and literature.
It is unfortunate that it took 9/11 for West to take notice of islamic treat, but unfortunately stupid western powers still let the Islamist pigs settle in their countries.
Unfortunatlely our homeland is included in this suicidal scam.
I think Polish leaders are wiser than that, and will not allow any Islamofasist emigration to Poland.
The good news is that Poland's Muslim population is miniscule, any Muzzie walking around would stick out like a sore thumb. I would however be weary of blonde, blue-eyed Bosnians.
That was the one silver lining for Poland being behind the Iron Curtain, it spared her the kind of Muslim immigration that plagues her Western neighbors.
Many prayers and blessings that the Polish troops don't succumb to the spineless threat. This type of thing is only done to try and frighten people into submission. It's time for the Polish people to, JUST SAY NO...
Great big mistlkake. Poles have had practice destroying islamofascists. Lots.
That kind of thinking will cost a few (or more than a few) talibastards' their lives.
Ping.
The Poles fought many wars against the Khan while the Polish-Lithuanian Confederation dominated Ukraine. Most of the fighting was in Ukraine, but once in a while Poland was attacked by the Tartars or Monguls. The Monguls were not necessarily Muslims.
The Christians in the Balkans have a much more intimate knowledge of Ottoman oppression.
Tartars and Mongols were Muslims and they repeatedly attacked Poland, not to take away anything from suffering of Southern Slavs by Islamic oppression.
Polish king Wladyslaw Warnenczyk died in a battle of Varna in 1444 (currently Bulgaria) fighting islamic invasion on Southern Slavs.
