Fox News Channel Plays Musical Anchors (ED Hill off Fox & Friends)
NY Daily News ^ | 09/25/06

Posted on 09/25/2006 4:44:17 AM PDT by Kieri

The Fox News Channel shakes up its anchor roster a little today, with former WABC/ Ch. 7 correspondent E.D. Hill moving from "Fox & Friends" to the network's "Fox Live" anchor team.

Former CBS News anchor Gretchen Carlson will take Hill's place as a co-host of the freewheeling morning show.

"Gretchen's warm personality and dynamic energy are a perfect fit for 'Fox & Friends,'" Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Also starting today on FNC is "Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" at 1 p.m., replacing "Dayside," and a full hour of news with Jane Skinner at 2 p.m.

True. Plus, what a hectic schedule
for any wife/mother to be on...
going to bed at 8 pm (before some
of the kids!) and arriving at the
job by 5 a.m. She's told us her
husband has to supervise getting
the kids off to school (no doubt
they have a maid/nanny aide) and
she handles them for the after
school hours.

I have Fox on all day, so I know
I'll still be seeing/enjoying E.D.
just at a later time slot.

OTOH, I love Kieren, too.

.....I wonder where Mike and Juliet are going?......

I heard they are supposed to have some kind of morning program on the Fox Channel (not FoxNews Channel).

I feel sure this had something to do with her kids. Children grow up fast and school activities are very demanding. Getting up so early to get into Manhattan for the show had to be an endurance test. I will be tuning in to see her in the new position whenever possible.

I also love the exotic looks of Harris Falkner.

Harris was an anchor here in KC for a number of years.... Wow, what a hottie! And she's extremely bright. Something that I've noticed about Fox... They get some extremely bright and intelligent wimmin-folk on their news shows, who just happen to be extremely HOT! Paige Hopkins! WOW!!!!!

"OTOH, I love Kieren, too."

I like them all. The Saturday morning segment with the guy from LOWE'S is so much fun. Kieren gets right into the do-it-yourself home improvement stuff. She was so cute while putting together that closet door this past week.

The first time I ever watched FOX NEWS was on an old analog c band sat system and the program had one guy sitting on a stool in front of a little glass table doing the news. Thats all there was to it..no adds no breaks no nothing. Although I dont think ED Hill was the first lady to join the outfit, she was amoungst the first.

I wish I had a picture of that guy..I can see him in my mind and dont know his name but I did know that this news outfit was different as they reported BOTH sides of the story and not just the side like CNN/ABC/CBS et al wanted you to see.

Martha McCallum is a flaming Mass liberal. That voice drives me crazy. She sounds a lot like the hoity toity Maria Shriver. I'm beginning to think Fox has lost it's way.

Probably the reason they moved her. You cant constantly keep an extra woman around to fill in when she was late.

Maybe she's sick of getting up so early. Just a guess.

OH NOOOO. I loved then as a team. This is really bad news. Kiran would have been a better pick than Gretchen. Or Juliet--but her and Mike are a hoot together--shouldn't break them up. I hear they are going to do a Fox nationwide morning show.

Gretchen is a little stiff. Kiran has the personality.
