Fox News Channel Plays Musical Anchors (ED Hill off Fox & Friends)
NY Daily News ^ | 09/25/06

Posted on 09/25/2006 4:44:17 AM PDT by Kieri

The Fox News Channel shakes up its anchor roster a little today, with former WABC/ Ch. 7 correspondent E.D. Hill moving from "Fox & Friends" to the network's "Fox Live" anchor team.

Former CBS News anchor Gretchen Carlson will take Hill's place as a co-host of the freewheeling morning show.

"Gretchen's warm personality and dynamic energy are a perfect fit for 'Fox & Friends,'" Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Also starting today on FNC is "Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" at 1 p.m., replacing "Dayside," and a full hour of news with Jane Skinner at 2 p.m.

I have recently discovered Cavuto. It is the best show they do.

I agree; it's the best show they have and he is THE best interviewer on Fox.

And I don't even LIKE or UNDERSTAND financial stuff!

They goofed by getting rid of Dayside, the 1-2pm show with Mike Jerritt and Juliet Huddy (Is that her name?). It was a great show, they were enjoyable, and could cover various types of topics with ease. Great chemistry between.

"and is quick-thinking - a necessary ability in order to keep up with Steve & Brian."

QUICK-THINKING??? Brian Kilmeade???

He's the comic relief of the show.

"People saying E.D. was the dumb one? E.D. was clearly the one on the Fox & Friends set with gravitas - totally on the ball, witty and warm - one of the few FoxNews babes with substance "

Very accurate.

Brian is a clown. Doocey needs someone to play off him.

Yep. The other show that I enjoy for the banter (always serious) is Britt Humes' Special Report. They better pay those people enough to keep them. Great show, great panel.

I read that Linda Vester went on maternity leave, and never came back. A talented woman, who speaks Arabic, and was hard on interviewees when needed.

When I think of it, they have MANY talented people on. Talented and wholesome and nonsensical, as opposed to haughty and belligerent at other news outlets. I can be entertained by watching Special Report w/Britt Hume, and educated. Pretty hard to do, IMO.

James Rosen can be VERY funny. I vaguely recall him be covered after some show of humor by journos.

I think you're getting her confused with Juliet Huddy.

Good riddance to ED.

I remember her doing an interview with Sec. Gonzales and she asked him about the border.

He replied we are doing a study to see why so many people are coming across and working with Vincente Fox to stop it.

Ed nodded OK.

I like the new afternoon panel but miss Juliet Huddy....

Brian is very smart and is known to have a high IQ. Sometimes he comes out with outrageous statements simply because his mind and mouth move at such a fast pace. His bio says that he has 7 years of stand-up comedy experience. His quirky sense of humor can come across as dumb at first, but we've been watching him on F&F since the beginning and have really appreciated his abilities & humor.

"Brian is very smart and is known to have a high IQ"

??????????

If so, he is quite adept at concealing it.

Yes, James Rosen has a great sense of humor! In 2003, James Rosen won the annual "Funniest Celebrity in Washington" competition. The 2006 competition takes place tomorrow, Sept. 27.

E.D. was ALWAYS outspoken about the border invasions and the treatment illegal invaders receive from libs here.

"He replied we are doing a study to see why so many people are coming across.."

HAHAHAHAAHHHAAAA!!

AG Gonzales has to do a STUDY to find out WHY people are violating our border and leaving Mexico? He should have gotten an academy award for not bursting out laughing at THAT one!!

Gonzales, like Chrissie Whitman, Tom Kean I, Norman Minetta, Colon Powell and few other misfits were some of Bush's biggest mistakes.

Is E.D.'s maiden name Tarbox? There was a cute E.D. Tarbox on Pittsburgh's WIIC years ago, close to twenty years past. I wonder if she is the one and the same.
