The Fox News Channel shakes up its anchor roster a little today, with former WABC/ Ch. 7 correspondent E.D. Hill moving from "Fox & Friends" to the network's "Fox Live" anchor team.
Former CBS News anchor Gretchen Carlson will take Hill's place as a co-host of the freewheeling morning show.
"Gretchen's warm personality and dynamic energy are a perfect fit for 'Fox & Friends,'" Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement.
Also starting today on FNC is "Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" at 1 p.m., replacing "Dayside," and a full hour of news with Jane Skinner at 2 p.m.
I was an engineer, smart ass.
I liked her. A very good and decent person IMO.
No, Paige Hopkins is a blonde. And a babe.

I haven't watched Fox in the morning for quite some time until recently.
What happened to Linda Vester?
She is the sharpest of the F&F crew.
No kidding!Just recently she cornered that moron from Utah who refused to welcome President Bush to the state. What was he, governor? She wouldn't let him off the hook, and finally said something along the lines of, "OK, so you won't answer that question..."
Brian can be a real bulldog too, when it comes to interviews. I really loved the chemistry of the three, they never took themselves too seriously, but when it came time to be serious about the news, they were, like on September 11, 2001. In fact, I was watching Fox and Friends that morning when the second plane flew into the WTC.

One of the things I learned early on, is if you see an electrical engineer with a screwdriver, run for you life!
LOL!
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I used to have a Class 2 Radio Telephone Operators license for a radio station where I worked.

The brunette with the heavy makeup is Kimberly Guilfoil (sp). The new brunette with not as much makeup is Julie Banderas. Kimberly is a lawyer that should have stayed a lawyer.
Jumping in late here but I have to disagree. Brian Kilmeade is very good, tough on questions.
E.D. will be missed. I do think she probably left because of the hours/kids but also because she doesn't really have to share the spotlight now. She was always jumping in trying to take the lead and interrupted a lot. I do agree Gretchen was a poor choice. She is as exciting as cardboard regardless of her background. Not crazy about Kieran. Maybe the other one who works with Kieran on Saturdays, her name escapes me, she is pregnant now. Didn't know Martha McCallum was a liberal.
This all seems very strange to me, and I figure that there's more to the story than we probably know about. If FNC wanted a more reserved, uptown image for its morning show, then they will probably get that from Carlson. Aside from being a former Miss America, I think I heard that she is also good at playing classical instruments, plus she graduated college with honors. All well and good, but....I'm not sure that the average viewer of Fox & Friends will be endeared to her. I have heard that Roger Ailes was very impressed with Gretchen, so this is probably why she was chosen.
Kiran probably wouldn't have been a candidate for this slot anyway. She's liberal, a little ragged, and from listening to her talk, she's quite the fan of Hip Hop music and WWF. I'm thinking that FNC would rather have Gretchen's "culture" over Kiran's "free spirit". Having said all of this, I feel that Kiran would have been the best choice anyway. While I've noticed Kiran's liberal tendencies, I think that she is one of the most fair and genuine co-hosts I've seen. She's ragged and imperfect, but her demeanor and personality is more of what I'd like to see in a morning show host.
I guess time will tell as to whether Gretchen will grow into E.D.'s shoes. They are very big shoes to fill.
I will miss her as well!
I find that c-span in the morning has been totally corrupted with all the agenda-driven callers. It might just be me, but I can't handle it.
Once, when our arrogant, egotistical news anchor was picking his nose, thinking we were in a station break, I made certain he made it on the air. We had ways of dealing with such people.
Yep, goodie for me. During those years I had the fortunate experience to work with Ronald Reagan and others.
Gretchen Carlson is not entierely new to Fox and Friends. She has several times co-hosted the weekend Fox and Friend show
I have never noticed any bias toward republicans by E.D. compared to Alan Colmes
I had wondered about him, as well.
YAY!....Not an E D Fan!!!!
Gretchen did the CBS Saturday morning show before fOX and left due to CBS liberal bias.
Perhaps domestic issues are involved. sometimes, E.D. does look a bit frayed.
