Oh, they're just here to get the WIC that Americans don't want. Incidentally, I've noticed over the past year that baby formula is now kept under lock and key. What the hell is up with that?

Time to put a law into effect...no US citizenship if you are born of a mother who was an illegal alien at time of your birth.

Article: ''I don't see why they should deny a medical service if we're here struggling for this country," she said. ''Because of the help of Mexican workers, whether they want us or not, this country is progressing."

They're not struggling for this country - they're struggling for themselves. If they really wanted to struggle for this country, they would pay for their own medical services. Did the Mexican government provide them free medical care when they were "struggling" for Mexico? Do they provide free medical care for Americans working there? The reality is that these United States have progressed for a couple of hundred years without hordes of illegal aliens from Mexico or anywhere else and can probably continue to progress without their continued influx into the country. Europe certainly seems to have maintain highly prosperous, highly-developed economies without large-scale illegal immigration.

She's certainly got her ACLU rap down. Apparently, the kind mexicans are making us progress whether we like it or not. I guess all good things happen because of selfless mexicans "struggling for this country". I think "struggling" would include paying your bills. The truth is, they care precious little for this country except when it comes to the money.

Another example of the "hidden costs" of illegal immigration.

I have come to the conclusion it is the official policy of our government to allow this invasion of illegal immigrants. Over the last 40 years American industry, politicians, and the Mexican government have promoted, encouraged, facilitated, and rewarded this importation of the poorest to the USA. Even now, with the issue on the front burner and the majority of US legal citizens against this stampede, absolutely nothing is being done.

Can someone explain to me why an advanced culture would import the dregs of the Mexican culture which depends upon fraud, graft, kickbacks and corruption in its society to deliver goods and services to its citizens?

Why doesn't the federal govt, or a state govt, take a hospital, cede it to Mexico as an embassy, and move ALL illegals about to give birth to it. That way, the kids born there, would be on Mexican soil, and therefore NOT entitled to be citizens. Or better yet, fix the problem of anchor babies, as the current interpretation is not historically the meaning of the Constitution.

"An estimated 70 percent to 80 percent of the 10,587 births at Ben Taub General Hospital and Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital last year were to undocumented immigrants, administrators say."

Incredible. They're still called undocumented immigrants, which only implies they left their legal papers at home by the T.V. set. Nothing will ever change until the dim-wits actually find their spine and use the correct words.

...ILLEGAL ALIENS...

Is there some reason the hospitals can't demand documents before treating these thieves? And turn them away if they aren't legal?

Undocumented immigrants...in a sane world they'd be called what they are, illegal aliens. But that's not PC. Next we'll call them what the CFR suggests, 'trusted travelers'. We're paying for the southern half of this hemisphere's ethnic cleansing..i.e. riding themselves of unwanted, unskilled poor. This is not a healthy or moral concept and not good for any of the nations involved. Mexico in particular is becoming depopulated. This will lead to instability and civil war, and what will the US do then?

One facet of the problem is that Americans generally have kids when they feel they can afford them. Keep Americans poor enough by forcing them to pay for other people's kids, and they (the Americans) won't have any.

Immigrants "want a U.S.-born baby" and know that emergency room staffers don't collect any money up front, said Dr. Mario Rodriguez, an obstetrician in Starr County.

The 14th Amendment is very clear. These babies are NOT U.S. Citizens. They do not pass the "jurisdiction" test. Why won't Scalia, Roberts and Thomas address this? Where is Congress on this issue? A simple court ruling clarifying the illegality of "anchor babies" would stop this crisis cold.
