Wow, this is Jason the oldest grandson of Joan's here and don't know if it's my place to do so or not but have a feeling my grandfather is a bit busy with everything else going on and I have some good/bad news to relay to all of you that my Grammy finally passed onto a better place yesterday. All of your comments and prayers I'm sure are being felt/appreciated and quite frankly have brought tears to my eyes. My grammy was a wonderful person and the world would be a lot better of a place with more people like her around.
According to my grandfather she went very peacefully in her sleep yesterday around 3pm. Bless all of you for the well wishes and she will always be with us.
Your cherished "Grammy" was loved and respected here and I offer you and your family my sincere condolences and humble prayers.
Thank you for letting us know. Prayers for all of you. Very sorry to hear of this.

God Bless you and your family.
My grammy was a wonderful person and the world would be a lot better of a place with more people like her around.
Amen, amen.
Prayers sent
Jason, thanks for informing us. The greatness of Grammy lives on through you and all of her wonderful creations.
Love
God Bless and hold all of you. Your Gram was such a special lady I'm sure she has a special place in heaven.
Well Done, Joan.
I am so sorry that she's gone, from this life. What an inspiration she is to me. She lifts my heart and make me glad, and brings beauty into my life, touches me at my roots, and is an eagle, globe, and anchor for me. Like LadyX and Tonk, she is one of those FReepers I really needed and wanted and am so blessed to know. She will always be one of the better parts of all of us. She will be sorely, sorely missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family. You're so right when you say your Grammy will always be with you in memory as well as in your heart.
i do recall having bumped into ZM in the threads from time to time.
God bless her - may she rest in peace.
May you family be comforted by the many people who cared about your grandmother and the warm memories that you share.
Ohhh dear. The world is a little lonelier tonight. Sad, sad news. My prayers for all concerned.
I am so sorry to hear this, but glad she is no longer suffering. It has been a long hard road, and sounds like she walked it with as much courage and dignity as humanly possible (your grandfather too) One day we'll all be together again, no more tears or sadness. May the God of Peace give your family his peace.
I too recently lost a loved relative to cancer. My sister-in-law died in late November after about a 2 month illness, and only about 1 month after she was diagnosed with Renal cell cancer. She was 47, and left an 18 y/o daughter and 15 y/o son as well as her husband, my brother. Her grandchildren will never know their Grandma.
You are so lucky to have known yours.
Long ago, I lost my grandmother to cancer when I was about 5. My brother never knew her at all. (We lost our other grandmother to cancer as well, but her I was privileged to know, a great Pioneer Woman type, until I was 21. I was also privileged to serve as one of her pallbearers, along with several of her other grandsons.
And for those who don't know, this is Zac,
A very lucky dog to have such a "Mom" as your Grammy.
Dear Jason-What sad news. Dear sweet Joan, your Grammy, was a lovely, talented, courageous lady. She will be greatly missed
I didn't know your Grammy personally, but I know she was a strong woman as I watched how long she fought.
She put up a good fight as did a very dear friend of mine who passed away last May from cancer. She too passed away at home. She left behind a husband, son, 3 grandsons, parents, sisters, many relatives & many friends. She is however now with her beloved and only brother somewhere near the streets of gold. Hopefully, your Grammy will meet them.
