Environmentalism is the druid type religion of the upper class.

Hahaha! A light bulb goes off in one liberal's head.
Rich, urban environmentalists are like manor lords imagining their serfs as plump, happy peasants dancing in the green all day. "Yes, Margaret, they live a simple, bucolic life, one with nature. Pass the Chardonnay."
To: rellimpank
Western liberals want Romanian peasants to remain in a 19th century existence so they can congratulate themselves on preserving "pristine" rural values. Never mind if the people who live there want to find a better life for themselves. Keeping them where they are is for their own good.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

An ENVIRONMENTALIST is a person who makes a living out of making trouble for other people by working to restrict their rights of access and liberties to parts of our country....

It is sad that my fellow left-wingers and environmentalists who often come from the most developed countries are now so opposed to development.
They are opposed to it for the same reason the loony libs love socialism...because they are elitist!
The writer needs to wake up and learn what the rest of us already know: Liberalism generates the exact opposite of its stated intent. (Quinn's first Law)

using an outhouse in winters where the temperature can plummet to 20 degrees below zero centigrade. Thank God I was born in the USA!

In the Michael Criton book: State of Fear (great book, recommend it)....one character - a limousine, environweenie liberal is totally clueless when he comes upon a "quaint" village and he argues that the natives are peaceful and living in harmony...blah, blah, blah without all the trappings of(electricity, running water)and interference from the western world......he is so stupid that he believes this nonsense right up until the moment they begin to eat him alive.

Gabriel Resources is actually a very, environmentally concerned company. The Romanians love it. They've done quite a lot to clean up the cyanide mess left by the previous Communist proprietors before it was shut down.
Their website is here:
http://www.gabrielresources.com/home.htm
For what it's worth, I have had a small holding of Gabriel Stock for the past year, and it's done very well. But gold is correcting at the moment; I wouldn't recommend going into that sector until maybe mid November or later.
Needless to say, no one should buy any stock without doing due diligence, as well.

Headline is incorrect. There's nothing new about it.

Druids would be offended if enviros were thought to be of them. Enviros are definitely rich b*tches, though.

the temperature can plummet to 20 degrees below zero centigrade That would be an average January in Fairbanks. -40 for days and even weeks is common. And that is C or F, no debate.

HURRAY!!!!!!!!! The no-science tree hugger looneys are having an impact on some of the people they want to 'save'. So here's the choice you over-educated-under-science lame brains: the poor of the world can get along on what a pathetic undernourished over-pest-infected fruit tree can produce, or you can help feed the poor by helping them use modern techniques. Go for it baby and make your decision....tick, tick, tick....

You may not know how very right you are! I personally know a woman whose father invented something that we all use and hence she is richer than God. They have a foundation for enviornmental causes (mega barf) and she spends her life flying around the world painting landscapes. Hasn't worked a day in her life and yet they know all there is to know about the environment and how everyone else should live...... makes me sick.
