Harris to stump with president afterall
Palm Beach Post Washington Bureau ^ | September 20, 2006 | Larry Lipman

On Tuesday morning, it looked like U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris was going to miss Thursday's rally in Orlando with President Bush and Republican gubernatorial nominee Charlie Crist.

Harris' schedule showed her participating in votes in Washington on Thursday for a series of House votes on immigration bills and then attending a River City Republican Club function in Atlantic Beach, near Jacksonville, around the same time as the evening rally.

My dictionary doesn't include "afterall" as a single word. Apparently, the editorial opinion is more important than using proper English.

Katherine Harris responds to the Nelson commercial.....

Nelson Who?

TAMPA, FL— Bill Nelson’s television commercial which began airing yesterday, is a disingenuous attempt to “re-introduce” himself to the Florida voters which he has failed to effectively serve during the last six years in the United States Senate. As reported by the Associated Press today, “polls show that many Floridians don't know much about Nelson after six years in office.”

Bryan Rudnick, Harris campaign manager notes, “With insurance rates spiraling out of control, Florida needs a strong leader who will get results in a fiscally- responsible manner. Our opponent is a career politician who failed to exert the necessary leadership to protect homeowners during his tenure as State Insurance Commissioner, and who continues to carry out an economic agenda that is harmful to Florida’s interests.”

When given the opportunity in the U.S. Senate to lower income taxes and eliminate the marriage tax penalty, Nelson said no. When given the opportunity to eliminate the onerous tax on Social Security Benefits and support small businesses by offering tax credits to purchase health care insurance, Nelson again said no.

Like so many career politicians, Nelson hopes voters will overlook his tax and spend record as he attempts to redefine himself this election cycle. Florida families deserve better.

Cant help but notice the heavy Liberal skewing in this article, that somehow Harris does not have the party support.

I think this is what the Libs strategy been all along knowing that Nelson could be whipped in the elections, to plant stories about division in the conservative camp, the South Florida newspapers seem to be involved in this , readily taken up by some clueless Republicans also.

No way!!! You mean, like some of our fellow FReepers, defeatist folks who find it more important to point fingers and say "see I told you so", than to go to victory, or down, fighting.

It is pretty hard to accept that there are many of these defeatist types in the Republican camp, it explains why Republicans dont have a super majority to overcome filibuster in the senate.

Yep......when the people you represent don't know much about you......that's not good!

'Do Nothing' Bill Nelson hasn't done much to get noticed by Floridians!

I posted this 2 days ago, and not one of the nay-sayers responded...

For what it's worth, to all the nay-sayers... I agree that she's run an inept campaign so far, and was over-zeoulous in her pursuit of the Senate Seat (I wish she would have ran for re-election in her safe House seat)... Having said that, can someone... ANYONE... tell me what's to be gained by constantly bashing her chances and anything that is KH??? Look, she's our nominee, for better or for worse... It DOESN'T help to say we could have done better, she blew her golden opportunity, etc...

We're (supposedly) all conservatives here... I suggest that we either support her, or STHU. She needs all GOPers/Conservatives to rally around her

I'd rather fight the good fight and go down in defeat, over sitting on the sidelines, constantly saying "see, I told you so"...

Yeah. When I see him on T.V. he only seems to be interested in how pretty he looks on camera...

You summed up the points pretty well. Like in the Harris remark on Christians in politics, there were some nasty DU style attacks on Harris by the so called conservatives and when they were pointed with facts ran away or diverted the topic. There are some trolls here masquerading as conservatives, and the naysayers many of them clueless, most real Republican conservatives back the Harris campaign.
