Remember the last time you saw somebody carrying a six-pack or box of Franzia off the plane? Me neither.

The airport is expected to propose today that drivers who wish to avoid alcohol-toting passengers change the light on their car roofs, possibly to a different color. Hogan says the move will help let airport employees and customers know which taxis serve alcohol-carrying passengers. Drivers refusing a fare won't have to go to the end of the line. "Airport authorities are not in the business of interpreting sacred texts or dictating anyone's religious choices. ... Our goal is simply to ensure travelers at (the airport) are well served."

WTF country do we live in? Show a cross you must take it down. Object to alcohol we must respect your religion.

So, Muslims cab drivers have the right to discriminate???

What would happen if someone REFUSED service to a Muslim...ah...we all know. All hell would break loose.

My first impulse would be to drag them out of their cabs and beat the shit out of them, on the spot. But, that's just me.

WTF country do we live in? Show a cross you must take it down. Object to alcohol we must respect your religion. I own rental property.

In the future, I am going to refuse to rent to gays - it is against my "religious choices." Let all hell break loose. I want to see this taken to the Supreme Court, if necessary.

Forgot to add this: I will put different colored porch lights on my rental homes. That will make it O.K., according to the Minneapolis airport officials.

Refuse to take a cab with a Muslim driver. Then see what hits the fan.

A passenger who is denied a ride because they were carrying a bottle of wine should sue on the basis that their rights were denied; they were discriminated against based on religion, someone else's religion.

Muslims who do not want to encounter people who might be carrying an alcoholic beverage should take an occupation in which such encounters are not likely. Our society does not owe them some inherent right to be cab driver.

Can you imagine an Amish person demanding the authorities provide horse and buggy cabs, because automobile taxis discriminate against their beliefs. The Amish would not think of making such a demand. They know that the limitations imposed by their faith are their responsibility to make adjustments for, not the other way around.

Cabbies might have the right to refuse a fare based on safety concerns, but not religious concerns. That issue is settled, as far as I can recall.

I hope somebody has the courage and the money to take this one to court.

I don't know, maybe we could work with this. If every Islamist cab driver had some clear marker on his cab, then those of us who at some point in our lives have eaten pork, drank alcohol, or seen the face of a woman who was not a family member (etc., etc.) could just signal that in order to avoid offending their religion, we'll just wait for the next cab, say by extending the back of our hands with the fingers clenched except for the middle one raised to denote the one true God, Allah.

Maybe if they don't want to transport passengers with alcohol, the city could just order them to mark their cabs with pictures of mohammad

I don't see what the problem is. Seems analogous to a pharmacist who won't fill a prescription for the morning after pill on conscience.

I don't see how the customer is inconvenienced. Just get in the next cab. The cabbie pays a heavy price for his conscience by having to go to the end of the line and wait again for hours.

Why aren't we keeping these people out of OUR COUNTRY?

I wonder how many of these drivers are illegals. We should send the INS up there next time they start whining about their "rights."

If only our Republican elected officials cared about SECURING THE BORDERS and DEFENDING OUR SOVEREIGNTY.

Shouldn't all business owners have the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason?
