As many as 30 cars of a freight train derailed Tuesday evening at a crossing on Highway 185 in Crawford, and reports from the scene indicated that hazardous materials may be involved. Residents within a one-mile radius of the derailment were evacuatedThat's the middle of (the small) town. However the ranch is 3+ miles away, well outside the radius. Wind is from the NE, ranch is to the WNW/NW of town, and the President is in DC. Still, it is bad news for the locals.

This just happened last week in central sounthern Illinois - they vacated everyone living within a mile and shut down part of I-57.
