Another example of why letting the Democrats ever again controll any portion of the Federal Goverment is insanely risky. The notion that once in they would easily be routed out of power again is nonsense.

Secret plan alleged on campaign financing Sacramento Bee ^ | 9/19/6 | Jim Sanders

A California Nurses Association publication indicates the group is pushing the Proposition 89 campaign-finance measure as a Trojan horse to get what it covets most: universal health care, opponents said Monday.
Allan Zaremberg, president of the California Chamber of Commerce, said the strategy basically was spelled out in a document that appeared on the nurses association Web site.
"They have a two-step process here," he said. "One is to eliminate the ability of business to communicate with the voters. The second step is to have government-run health care on the next ballot ... and deny voters the ability to hear the other side."
Proposition 89 would allow public financing of campaigns for state offices, an overhaul touted as a way to discourage undue influence by well-heeled special interests.
The measure, crafted by the CNA, is on the Nov. 7 ballot.
Chuck Idelson, spokesman for both the CNA and the Yes on Proposition 89 campaign, said the nurses group has supported universal health care for many years but that the campaign-finance initiative is not specifically linked to that goal.
Universal health care is a bitterly controversial concept to replace California's system of private health insurance with a state-run system to provide medical care to every resident.

Never mind, they FIXED the problem! I do live in a RAT infested area...sigh! :(
Check WLS or WABC for their streams. Both are working so far.
No i have not.
Too true. It's vulgar. Just because the U.N. is in NYC, why should we allow world leaders in the country, who's stated goal is the destruction of this country? That is just the epitamy of STUPIDITY! Let the U.N. purchase it's own island somewhere out of the U.S. and have it's own little country. Anything to get them out of the U.S.. We could start dumping our garbage somewhere in the middle of the ocean, and someday when it breaks the surface making an island made of trash, build the U.N. headquarters on that. It would be appropriate I think.
McCain and his allies, however, apparently have trouble distinguishing between civilization and barbarity. The world is beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism, former Secretary of State Colin Powell wrote in a widely circulated letter to McCain. To redefine Common Article 3 would add to those doubts. So American troops fighting to establish decent governments halfway around the world can be confused morally with terrorists? What a slander, and how disgusting that a former secretary of state would give it any credence by repeating it.
The irony is that, for all his preening, McCain supports what he would call torture if the conditions are right. He has said of a ticking-time-bomb scenario a terrorist has information of an imminent attack you do what you have to do. But you take responsibility for it (i.e. get sued or prosecuted). In other words, McCain wants to make it legally problematic for interrogators to undertake the very interrogations that he supports.
In real life, the closest we get to a ticking-time-bomb scenario is the one that prompted the CIA interrogation program the capture of high-level al Qaeda operatives with knowledge of ongoing plots. McCain cant bring himself to say that he opposes the program outright, so he professes to support it, but refuses to give the program the legal cover necessary for it to continue. And this is the moral high ground?
If you understood it was a joke, why did you find it necessary to say Bush was a Dallas fan?
I believe that's the case too. He never admits it, but McCain is on a leash too, and he knows he's choking on it. Senators don't win over a President on this kind of thing, especially when Bush has made it quite clear that if this continues and he doesn't get the program he wants, he'll scrap it, and if that results in an attack, it won't be his fault, it will be the fault of those who preventing him from doing what had to be done to protect the country. That's a line that McCain won't keep walking down because he does want to be President.
Richardson said he should have asked for help in solving the worlds problems??
Ummmmm ... When did the US become the UN??
"Hard-line" seems to be Dem the talking point.
a portrayal of Allah is offensive and worthy of riots and murder, but trashing Christ and His followers is "Good TV," "Good Radio," and "Good Print." Not to mention GOOD FOR DEMS AND RATINGS!
What a ding bat he is.

Never happen. Too many 5thAve retailers, catering busnisses, limo leasing outfits, high-end restaurants, B'way theaters etc would scream bloody murder. Not to mention all the NY libs who just love being in such a cosmopolitan city.
Dems should put away the drapes. Bush polls are up.
