I wouldn't worry about this - those minibar keys are under tight security/sarc.

I've noticed for a couple of years my Diebold key would unlock hotel mini-bars, but was trying to keep it secret.

Now just look what some wise-ass has done. They'll confiscate all the thousands of Diebold keys now.

Geez, is nothing sacred?

:)

Yeah, but if you use the hotel mini bar key on the Diebold machine, you get charged $8.50 for every vote that you steal.

The key for our Diebold machine was the same one I had for my 1965 Ford Fairlane (500)
Fortunately I had the wherewithall to save it all these years.
I walked into my polling place and yelled "Hey everybody, Bill Clinton is outside shaking hands!" After all the Liberals ran out I simply swapped the card in the Diebold machine.
We had over a million votes for Bush in our community of 75 people... and I'm the only Republican!
They never caught on!

Unbelievable!

Here's a link to the post that tells the whole sad story about this.

If you have the time and are a little geeky, the .pdf file of their paper is interesting reading. Link to the paper at that link.

As usual, some freepers are too quick to mock & deride. This is not good news. No voting system is perfect, but I trust paper ballots that can be verified much more than a machine.

Damn! I have been enjoying the use of my Diebold key in hotel mini-bars all across the land, but now the hotels may start to tighten up on their security.....

This is good news! In my precinct I use a bump key (klopf klinkel) to hack the voting machine. The hotel bar key will be quieter.

I almost got caught in '04!

These commies are just mad because its a lot harder to cheat with a Diebold than it is with chads and the idiots that used to steal elections for the democraps can't do it any more.

I was going to use the key to my Social Security lock box.

I think all the Chicago politicians are upset that they have to learn how to fix a new type machine. Learning new technology is difficult for old-time politicians.

What a critical decision for a Kennedy; use the hotel bar or fix the voting machines.

This means that Ted Kennedy now has total control of all voting in Massachusetts!

It is VERY obvious what is going on with the recent, never ending stories, concerning voting machines:

Some libs in the media and acadamia now believe they may not win the house and could possibly end up drawing even or winning just 1-2 seats. So, they are now laying the groundwork for the typical post election tirades like

"They stole the election by manipulating the machines"

or one of numerous variations of the above.

Sorry, but the peeples are growing rather weary of your chicken little impersonations.

One other thing: Is it not interesting that whenever these supposed things occur, it only happens to Democratic voters in districts run by Democrats?

You would think that if this liberal could come up with a program that supposedly alters the vote count that there would be other technically savvy liberals that would go after Republican votes using the same method.

Oh, I forgot, liberals would NEVER manipulate the vote. That is something that only those mean and nasty conservatives do /sarcasm>

I think there are some serious concerns with the new computerized voting. I'd be much happier if there was an actual paper trail of somesort and something that could be verified. Eventually we'll have an incidence where someone hacks these machines and changes the results of an election. Given how the Dems have behaved in recent elections, I wouldn't be shocked if they don't find ways to cheat on these systems.

If you kick a Diebold machine in the right place, a little window slides up and you get to see the naked dancing girl inside.

I don't trust these machines for nothing. There should always be a backup hardcopy of each ballot in case the election is close and a recount is ordered.

It did seem odd that all the voters in Cynthia McKinney's district exited their voting booth with macademia nuts.
