Ill-fated Words of Rosie O'Donnell by Charlie Daniels
Charlie Daniel's Web Site (Soap Box) ^ | Sep 15, 2006 | Charlie Daniels

I don't watch television shows like the one Rosie O'Donnell is on but I did see a replay of her saying that radical Christianity is just as dangerous as radical Islam.

First of all, I don't know what Ms. O'Donnell is referring to when she says radical Christianity. When compared to radical Islam it would have to mean that there is a sect of Christians who hates and persecutes every other religion in the world.

A group who straps explosives to their bodies and blows up innocent women and children. They would have to sacrifice their sons and daughters as suicide bombers. They would have to be willing to hack off heads with the whole world watching.

They would have to be willing to wage worldwide war against anybody who isn't a Christian. They would treat women like cattle and indoctrinate their children with hate.

They would have to believe that the only sure way to get to Heaven is to die killing other human beings in the name of their deity.

They would advocate a form of government which would strip away all civil and personal rights and turn the power to govern over to humorless old men who encourage their sons and daughters to go out and die for their cause.

I have been around Christians all my life, many denominations, many different people who interpret the Holy Bible slightly differently from each other. I have been in charismatic churches, Evangelical churches, Pentacostal churches, all kind of churches and I have never seen the kind of Christianity Ms. O'Donnell is talking about.

So where is this radical Christianity Ms. O'Donnell fears? I am an extremely well traveled person and I've never seen it.

Even the occasional nut like Jim Jones and David Koresh never did suicide bombings or beheaded people and certainly did not represent anything close to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Nor does the odd misled soul who stands beside the road with a sign saying, God hates fags. God hates the sin but loves the sinner.

Just to show you the difference, if Ms. O'Donnell had said what she did on a television network in Iran or Saudi Arabia she would have been charged with blasphemy, a crime punishable by death in some instances.

No Rosie, there is no comparison and although I vehemently disagree with what you said, instead of anger, I feel pity. You see I dont really think you even believe what you said, you're just trying to hurt somebody, and Ms. O'Donnell, if you want to know who you're really hurting, go look in the mirror.

Pray for our troops.

What do you think?

God Bless America

"Sure way"-- actually, you're probably right. I didn't let those words sink in enough.

I can imagine millions of muslims not being absolutely SURE if they will be getting their virgins if they die of natural causes.

So where is this radical Christianity Ms. O'Donnell fears?

Is it possible that Ms. O'Donnell, in her mental illness, equates someone suggesting she should not have sex with someone she wants to with someone sawing her head off?

Shalom.

Charlie Daniels, a popular and well known musician with a logical, rational mind. Not many of these birds around.

He is performing in concert about a block from where I am now in Oct. I can't wait to see him.

Last year it was Phil Vasser and the year before that was Lee Greenwood.

Charlie is as good as they come. Not only do I post on his website, I'm a fanclub member. Charlie invites his fans for a dinner, imprompt concert, and a meet and greet every year in his hometown of Mt Juliet, Tennessee. The cost .... included with your $20 membership with a CDB t-shirt thrown in. Now that's value!

And of those that do exist, a large proportion of them are in the same general genre...country, although I have to admit, that Ted Nugent must be listed therein because of his adament and impassioned stand for the 2nd Amendment.

It was late one night, I was heading into Georgia, While Charlie was on his way to Nashville. It was way back when the CB Radio was the king of the road for those who remember the Convoy days and trying to break the 55 mile an hour Jimmy Carter imposed speed limit. Lo an behold there was CD talking away on the CB radio on his bus having a good time entertaining his fans and making friends. I only had about 25-30 minutes to chat with CD and the many other folks on the CB radio that were in range for that brief moment in time. I'll never forget what a gentleman CD was and how he treated everyone that night. It sure made my trip seem faster and my wife being a big CW fan was all shook up hearing CD talking away as we passed his bus on the opposite side of the freeway. He's the only CW star I've ever heard on the CB radio, and CD left a big impression on me that night that I will never forget. Go Charlie Daniels, Your the man...

Great experience!

Charlie Daniels is just that kind of guy.

But, I have to ask...did you stop and talk to him on the CB? Cause if you were in range for 20-25 minutes with him on the other side going the other way...I'll tell you, you have one powerful, hum-dinger of a CB! Must have been one of those several hundred watt boosters!

Most of my long talks on the CB have been with truckers or other late at night going the same direction I was...and it's a good way to avoid getting sleepy.

Good point. But I have seen a semi-apology from the Pope, not the distinct direct lecture like I saw from Daniels to Rosie........ The situation with the Pope looks more accidental like a deer in the headlights so far. But, since I am Catholic and love my Pope, I expect him to stand up to evil in it's many forms.

I was running power back in those Good old days when most people were mostly using 5 watts because you used to have a CB license back in them days. I believe CD may have had some power himself, because as you mention back then, 5-10 mile range was max for most legal radios. Today if you don't have 500 - 600 watts minimum it can be downright difficult to even talk in a big town like Atlanta, Georgia.

I do enjoy my radio's from time to time. I like talking on them to keep the pot stirred and keep myself awake many a long night on the road. There the best things to have if your traveling with a bunch of other cars and don't want to ride each others bumpers to keep from getting lost from each other along the way.

Oh, I think the Pope knows exactly what he's doing. He has never spoken without great thought, and he didn't do that here. He hasn't apologized for saying what he said, he said he's sorry they got so incensed about it. The most important thing is that the media has totally missed the point of what he had to say at all, blowing up the Islam thing all out of proportion.

No matter what he says now, by their reaction to the media reports of what he said, he has shown Islam for exactly what it is, a violent death cult that has absolutely NO desire to 'dialogue' with anyone. SirKit (my hubby) says that Islam reminds him of the alien in the movie Independence Day. When the President, in the movie, asks if they can come to some accord with the aliens, and asks what the aliens want Earthlings to do, the aliens answers with one word, "DIE". So far, that's all I've seen that Islam wants the West to do, "Submit, or die."

I do not believe the Pope expected a nun in Somalia to be gunned down. I will wait to see. I love the Pope.......but he is not infallible. I hope he holds firm.
