Arrested Pulitzer Prize winning Associated Press photographer Bilal Hussein, who took the infamous pictures of a terrorist execution on Haifa Street in Baghdad, and is notorious in the blogosphere for his collusion with jihadis as they tried to kill Americans, is the subject of a very lengthy attempt by the AP to whitewash his acts: U.S. holds AP photographer in Iraq 5 mos. (Hat tip: Michelle Malkin.)
The AP spins furiously and buries it in the middle, but heres some interesting information from the US Army:
The military said Hussein was captured with two insurgents, including Hamid Hamad Motib, an alleged leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. He has close relationships with persons known to be responsible for kidnappings, smuggling, improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and other attacks on coalition forces, according to a May 7 e-mail from U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jack Gardner, who oversees all coalition detainees in Iraq.
The information available establishes that he has relationships with insurgents and is afforded access to insurgent activities outside the normal scope afforded to journalists conducting legitimate activities, Gardner wrote to AP International Editor John Daniszewski.
Hussein proclaims his innocence, according to his Iraqi lawyer, Badie Arief Izzat, and believes he has been unfairly targeted because his photos from Ramadi and Fallujah were deemed unwelcome by the coalition forces.
That Hussein was captured at the same time as insurgents doesnt make him one of them, said Kathleen Carroll, APs executive editor. Journalists have always had relationships with people that others might find unsavory, she said. Were not in this to choose sides, were to report whats going on from all sides.
Notice: the Associated Press received this information from the Army four months ago in May, but did not reveal it until now.
UPDATE at 9/17/06 10:14:22 am:
Correction: Ive just received an email from the Associated Press (that was quick) saying that Bilal Hussein did not take the photos of the execution on Haifa Street. (They didnt dispute anything else in my post.)
Bumping for reference.
The AP is way too friendly to our Islamic adversaries.
Tom Curley is a long time Clinton butt boy and DNC supporter.

So, effectively, AP is at the disposal of Al Quaeda? Well, that does explain a great deal, doesn't it?
Reporter, wall, cigarette, blindfold, a 1.30 worth of ordinance.
End of problem

They do a "great job" with the body count every day.
Their constant copy on "casualties" gets printed in every newspaper and read on every TV and Radio news program. Not to mention internet postings.
Al-Associated Press. Al-AP.
Ping.
My plan for this photographer:
(1) Send him to Egypt and find out what he knows
(2) Cut his throat.
Or grab one of his loved ones and film their pain and suffering as he has so joyously filmed the pain and suffering of our soldiers and show it to him during interrogation. Payback could be a real bitch.
BTTT -- good post.
Don't forget the private bathroom!
The PC Four need to get a clue.
Speaking of that, and since I see it on Yahoo! every day, I imagine it's AP's "reporting," I'm fascinated by these "30 bodies found in Iraq" headlines they've been running the past while.
So, what....aren't all the other bodies found all over the world worthy of headline, too?
If they catch him with insurgents, they should pop a few in him - after all a camera with a big telephoto lens looks a lot like a rifle from a distance.
