n the aftermath of Sept. 11, Americans came together in shock and sorrow and resolve. Members of Congress, from both parties, symbolized that powerful connection when they stood on the Capitol steps and sang "God Bless America" hours after the attacks.

The left can't admit it has any responsibility for the dis-unity. Their "it's all Bush's fault" is beginning to backfire.

The MSM just loves putting "Bush" and "Fail" in the same sentence... Why not have a Headline "Democrats fail to gain any ground since Watergate".. since they Love to put their "Since" word in there! LOL!

How about a hateful filled, treasonous liberal democrat party and their media that is the ONLY cause for breaking up the unity.

What "Post-9/11 Unity"? As I recall, the moonbats started in immediately saying we needed to "answer violence with peace".

Why would I want to be united with leftists?
To: US Navy guy
That's because, after laying low for 12 months for fear of being run out of the country if they opened their mouths, the Democrats and MSM went right back to their hate-Bush, hate-Republicans, hate-capitlism, hate-America agenda.

Notice that too, eh? Anybody remember Michael Moore's vile screed on Sept 12, 2001? It was a harbinger of things to come from the Left. Same with Europe.

Brownstain... what do you expect? This is the current talking-point in the 5th Column-DBM... How long can Bush keep 9/11 on the front-burner?
DUH... as long as Islamo-fascists keep wanting to kill us!

Nonsense, the left here and overseas only love us when we are dying.
When we fight back, it's "see ya later, we are running to the other side"!
To: US Navy guy
Let see. The Leftist Democratshave done nothing but launch personal attack after personal attack at Bush and it is HIS fault "we are not unified"?
Amazing that anyone this absurdly ignoant can turn on a computer must less actually write this sort of drivel.

It will take another serious attack to bring unity back. And maybe even not then. And maybe for just a few sad weeks. Many people still view this fight as a political one and not one that is to preserve our values, morals and our freedom. The Democrats have put the kaboosh on everything this President has sought to do to protect our country. They have fought him, tooth and nail. They have disclosed every security program that stops the terrorists from committing another atrocity. They attack everything he attempts to do. They hate him more than the terrorists and make no bones about it. They are so weak and feminized that they can't stand a manly president who stands up for good and fights the good fight.
And why? It's because they lost CONTROL and because they are still very bitter about the last election. Their motto seems to be... "Cut off you foot to spite their face". And the saying... a divided house will fall... hasn't any meaning for them. It all makes me sick to my stomach. /rant

Brownstein casually forgets the Marty Mehann congressman, Democrat didn't even wait a day to ask "Where was George" ?
like he was hiding and scared of coming back to Washington.
The "unity" was a sham. They looked at polls and where the attacks happened and said to each "We better shut up for a while and play nice".
All the while plotting when and where they would go back on the attack.
Don't let anyone forget that on Sept 10, the DNC chair was still talking about a "stolen Florida election".
The delay tactics that Gore employed and then the sore loser attitude of sitting on some of Bush's key appointments DID contribute to lost time.
Who knows if another dot could have been connected with the time and resources spent studying chads.
"Florida" flight schools anyone?

Stories like this one are built on the false premise that the country was united BEFORE 9-11. It was not. Proof of that division predated Bush's election is that Bill Clinton never managed to get a majority of the votes.
To: US Navy guy
Oh there's unity alright. U.S. loving pro defense citizens are united in support of the United States. Peacenik anti-American appeasers are also united, only with the terrorists. You just have to pick which side you want folks to know you stand for.
As for me and my family, we'll stand with the good old USA.
