COMMENTS by Pope Benedict XVI implicitly linking Islam to violence have caused Muslims "genuine pain", a British Muslim leader said in Sydney today.

The head of the Roman Catholic church provoked fury across the Islamic world when he quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor's criticism of the Prophet Mohammed for bringing

I predict a riot.

Seriously, you can't make stuff like this up. "Don't call us violent or we'll go nuts!"

Here are a few things that cause normal people "genuine pain".
Bombing trains. Bombing buses. Bombing planes. Flying planes into buildings.
Slicing heads off while singing religious hymns.
Dragging bodies through streets.
Using "charities" to pass money to terrorists. The Sears Tower Plot.
Killing converts to Christianity. Cutting your head off if you don't convert.
Torturing and killing kids in a school.

The Pope said the truth. It needed to be said. Is there any chance that the world will now wake up?

Check post 21. Two churches in the west bank have been firebombed.

One of them was a Greek Orthodox one. I guess all us Christians look alike to them.

There are many trouble spots in the world.Various parts of the Middle East,Kashmir,Thailand, the Phillipines along with London,Paris,Madrid,New York etc.

These trouble spots all have one thing in common...a Ninth Century cult that simply refuses to live peacefully with those who don't follow their cult.

I read the Pope went on to endorse fully the view that "spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable".

Also read that the pope quoted from a little-known medieval text recording debates between a Byzantine emperor and an educated Persian. The Pope recalled that the emperor had told his adversary: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

And the problem is?

This is one of the reasons I can't stand the media, why put a mic in front of this race baiter, now Pope basher, in the first place. They all know he has NOTHING constructive to say, about anything, yet they can't wait to stick a mic in his ugly face.

Hey Jessie Jackass, if your still out of the country don't come back, go live with the Neanderslams.

"....This could, it has the potential to be, a defining moment. Prayers for Benedict......"

Maybe he's read Ann Coulter ("solution: Kill all their leaders and convert them to Christianity").....??

If you talk with moderate muzzies (the one's living in your communities and working in your communities) you will find that even those muzzies indeed think we are infidels. They all envision an islamic America under sharia law. I have known several for many years, and after 9/11 they are ALL on my watch list. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

From another thread.

In the spirit of promoting understanding across religious denomination lines, the Muslim Student Association hosted a lecture clarifying some of its religious beliefs.

"Christ in Islam," held at 4 p. m. Wednesday in Wooten Hall, aimed to show NT students that contrary to popular opinion, Muslim beliefs could align to Christian ones, event organizers said.

I am offended by them saying Christ is Islam. I want my apology right now.

It's happened to me too lately -- a lot. Just last night with an Amber alert. Searched six ways to Sunday and didn't get it back. Oh well! No worries!

This pope does not believe in multiculturalism. He attributes philosophical sickness of the west to nihilism, relativism, deconstructionism, and multiculturalism in that order. After studying Islam, he has said it is not compatible with Christianty.

The fact that emperor Manuel Paleologus wrote that during a siege of his capital by Muslims in 1391 (He should know.) and that the Byzantine empire was finally overrun by Muslim invaders 60 years later somehow never gets included in these provocative reports. If everyone has to accept that they took the capital of Orthadox Christianty and turned constantinople into Istanbul, then I think the sore loser Palestinians can just suck it up.

The violence will hit all Christian churches at some point. I will stand with Catholics arm in arm on this one. I always pray for the persecuted church and offer what help I and my church can manage

However I understand Pope Benedict has just apologized for the remarks. I am sure he isn't worried about his own skin, but is being pastoral to his flock. I think it misjudged but I'm not going on Jihad over it.

Defining moment bubble burst.

That's why jackson is becoming(already is) sooo irrelevant. Just like the rest of the msm/DBM.

We are almost at the point where they respond to us and not vice-versa, that 's the place to be.

Jesse jackson's actions always account much better for his life and how he runs it than his words, which are meaningless. Unless he is in the process of shaking down some mulit-national corp.

ROME (Reuters) - Pope Benedict told Muslims on Saturday he was sorry they had found his speech on Islam offensive, expressing his respect for their faith and hoping they would understand the "true sense" of his words.

Ah but he said look to the true sense of his words. He is repeating that what he said is true, he is sorry they are offended by it.
