Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on the latest Muslim reaction to Pope Benedict XVIs address at Regensburg University on September 12:
It is a mark of a civilized people that they answer discourse they find disagreeable in a rational manner. Sadly, many Muslims are responding to the popes speech in an irrational way, making true dialogue next to impossible. To compare the pope to Hitler, as a high-ranking Turkish official did, is the mark of an uncivilized person. To burn the pope in effigy, as the thugs in Srinagar, India, have done, is also the mark of incivility. Both are classic examples of Muslim overkill.
Ironically, these pathetic examples underscore the central message of the popes address: he was beckoning the world to embrace both faith and reason. Reason unhinged from faith delivers a debased conception of mankind, the result of which has often been violence on a grand scale. But it is also true that faith unhinged from reason is capable of delivering the same outcome. Sadly, this part of the popes message has gone unheard in much of the Islamic world.
Pope Benedict XVI is a brilliant philosopher and theologian. He offers so much to so many, and that is why it is sad to see this kind of reaction. Fortunately, he is also a courageous man, and will not be intimidated from speaking the truth.

So has any Imam issued a fatwah against B-16 yet?
"To compare the pope to Hitler..."
Funny how people who follow someone much worst than Hitler have this fixation with Hitler..
The Pope can't be Hitler. Bush is Hitler. Gee whiz, get with the program.
Let the Pope be Mussolini, then! Or Pol Pot. Those subhuman muzzie filth need *something* to riot over and kill, dammit!
So if Muslims are comparing the Pope with Hitler, this means that they LIKE Benedict XVI, right?
The Muslims and Democrats have something in common these days, in that they both think a lot of people are Hitler other than themselves, of course.
Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Al-Amin Husseini, Yasser Arafat's uncle. Also, influenced Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Gamal Nasser, and Yasser Arafat. Many Nazis fled to the Middle East, mainly Egypt and Syria. Also, ODESSA operated there and many Nazis went through the Middle East before heading to Argentina.
Muslims in general don't think....You can't reason with a outrage machine.
Well the Pontiff just came out and dissed Moe in a big way.
if they went berserk over a few cartoons, imagine what's coming over this....... "evil and inhuman...."
hehehe
I wish I'd said that.
To most IslamoNazis, Hitler was a hero since they both hated Jews.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
Planned riots are just another example of Muslim overkill on top of Suicide Bombings, hijackings, beheadings, Jihads, goofy sadistic videotapes...
You'd think that coming from Muslims any comparison to Hitler would be a tremendous compliment. Given how much they hate Jews and all the horrible things they want to happen to the Jews you'd think Hitler would be a Muslim hero.
