He's massaging McCain. Smart move.

Often times US passes laws to CLARIFY international treaties. If this isn't done, our professionals could be tried by courts in other countries, and I am sure Americans don't want that.

I love it that he is so mad, fervent, strong--and then can in the next minute joke with the reporters about who is next, someone's last press conference, etc.

He really believes in what he is saying today. Go GWB!

The issue isn't observance of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention, but the clarification of its ambiguous language. We don't torture. What does "degrading treatment" mean?

Bush: I've talked to people I rely on for advice. They're not going forward with the program. They won't step up unless there's clarity in the law!!!

Very unusual for him to smack a pubbie by name. John really made him mad.

I dread his leaving office -- esp. if we get some namby-pamby Democrat.

"Somebody has been taking lessons from Tony."

Tony has set new standards for the conduct of the press.

Sounds like the Pressrats heard Bush's response to that Delta Sierra first question and decided to fold.

I'm sure that I would.

Dude is PO'ed down to his boottops and righteously so.

Excellent post.

Then, give those people this:

party philosophy:

WE ARE REPUBLICANS BECAUSE…

We believe that our government’s most solemn duty is to keep its citizens safe.

We believe a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit will keep our economy strong and provide more opportunities for workers and families.

We believe that free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive have given this nation an economic system second to none.

We believe in building an innovative economy to compete in the world, because America can compete with anyone, anywhere, thanks to our entrepreneurs and risk-takers who keep us on the cutting edge of technology and commerce.

We believe in strengthening our communities, because our children deserve to grow up in an America in which all their hopes and dreams can come true.

We believe in protecting our families, and respect the family’s role as a touchstone of stability and strength in an ever changing world.

We choose strength over uncertainty, results over rhetoric, optimism over pessimism, opportunity over dependence, freedom over fear, and moving forward over turning back!

Congress has got a decision to make, do you want the program to go forward or not. (Ball's in your court, Congress. Do you want the blood of thousands on your hands.)

" Now he is pissed! "

Especially in the context of President Bush constantly reiterating what is revealed in his daily terror briefs -
" They want to hit us again and they're coming after us .."- he also sounds extremely frustrated.
The Dems and the 3 idiots are trying to tie his hands and it's obvious that we straddle a fine line every day between staying safe and getting attacked again.
