I'd have some respect for him if he was REALLY concerned about torture, American style, (IOW, not torture at all), but all McCain cares about is himself and his career. The stupid thing is that he will NEVER get by a primary to win the votes of the Dimocrats he is now pandering to.

They're so stupid, I doubt seriously they would even know how to find me. The road that I live on is not even named and it's not in the city/state/county directories, so they could never find me. No one can come to my house without me seeing them coming down my road. I'm very well armed, and I have intrusion alarms, so I'm not at all worried. :o)

Congress doesn't agree to define specifically the forms of permissible interrogation of Al-Qaeda detainees, the "program will not go forward." In other words, we won't be able to interrogate them and get useful information out of them any longer, and you in Congress will be to blame for making America less safe.

Good. The congress should have to take responsibility now, and if they insist on putting us in danger then it's on them when we are attacked again.

Supposedly, McCain has said that if this hurts his presidential chances in '08, that's fine. I think he and his enormous ego will still run, but I'm not so sure he'll run as a Republican since he has hurt the GOP and is so disliked.

My guess is that he'll run as a "maverick independent" and get the media salivating over his candidacy. He'll be the Ross Perot of '08 and time will tell if he peels off enough votes to put Hillary in the White House, or if it backfires and helps the GOP candidate.

After the spanking Bush just gave McCain and his other three Senate buddies, I don't imagine his candidacy as an independent would hurt the GOP at all. :-)

McCain is a 2-faced back-stabber. I hate his cordial gentlemanly facade going along with that back-stabbing garbage he comes up with.

I marked my ballot with my nose held last election since I could never assist in putting in a DumboCRAP. I don't like McCain either, but he does vote with GWB on a lot of issues. I abhor both McCain and GWB position on McCain-Feingold that allowed Soros to almost buy the 2004 Presidency.

Bush and co. are making the point that Gen. Hayden at CIA is saying the interrogators are refusing to interrogate.

These are PROFESSIONAL interrogators and they are telling their bosses they are refusing to interrogate until the law is CLEAR. That's what I've been hearing all over tv and what I got from the President. And as President Bush said, you cannot ask these people to go ahead and interrogate ANYHOW.

The professional interrogators have drawn a line in the sand, and Hayden and Bush are backing them.
