President Bush Job Approval (@47%)
Rasmussen ^ | September 14 2006

Posted on 09/14/2006 9:00:46 AM PDT by jmc1969

Forty-seven percent (47%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove. Those are by far the best numbers for the President since mid-February.

The spike is fueled largely by a resurgence of support among the President’s base. Eighty-five percent (85%) of Republicans now offer their approval. At its low point earlier in the year, just 66% of the GOP faithful approved of his job performance.

In January and much of February, the President’s Job Approval ratings were in the mid-40s. Then, they fell sharply and have hovered around 40% ever since. Fifty percent (50%) of men and 44% of women now say they somewhat or strongly approve of the President’s performance. Overall, 24% of Americans Strongly Approve and 38% Strongly Disapprove.

Since this is just the third day of a bounce, it remains to be seen whether this reflects lasting change or is nothing more than statistical noise. The Rasmussen Reports daily updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. Most of the interviews for today’s update were completed before President Bush’s address to the nation two nights ago. Friday’s results will be the first based entirely upon interviews conducted after the speech and after the 9/11 anniversary.

Will there be any point in mentioning his approval numbers after the mid terms?!

Are you kidding? The Dems will be running against GWB for the next ten years...LOL!

I've begun to think of my party like my child. Sure I don't like everything that they do.. but giving them up for someone's elses child just isn't going to cut it. At the end of the day I still love my child.

Sure there is no perfect Republican in the world. But it sure is better than taking on the demon child the neighbor is raising down the street.

"Nancy Pelosi as speaker is about as scary as it gets."

Isn't she already speaker, according to Russert?

Wouldn't surprise me. Hell how long did they run against Reagan?

Well, since he was "selected, not elected" in 2000, I think he ought to be eligible to run in 2008 (wink, wink)!

That said, I think the President has done a masterful and courageous job, and if he wants to go home to rest to his ranch in Texas, it will be with my blessings and heartfelt gratitude for saving this country.

The MSM and Rats will be working OT to find or create something to get those numbers down since they believe the mid-terms ride on how President Bush is perceived.

This new poll is very interesting to me. You should notice that the poll was conducted with ADULTS - which means to me that if the poll had been conducted with LIKELY VOTERS - Bush's approval numbers would have been well over 50%.

The pollsters still cannot bring themselves to give this President his due.

We should have a Navy-style Crossing the Line ceremony when President Bush goes over 50%. We can dress up like Karl Rove and haze all the newbies (I mean wogs!)

Any Navy guys out there with details on how one of these things works?

Disregard any poll that does not have as it's people surveyed 'likely voters'. Those polls are irrelevant.

They can suggest a general mood of the public but voters are those who count.

I will vote republican in november but i wont be happy about it. I got Olympia Snow "Rino" on the ballot here in maine but with a promised impeachment of Bush by the democrates during war time they could not keep me away from the polls.

Did you ever think you would become a broken-glass Olympia Snow voter?

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

History shows Abe Lincoln falling and rising in polls. He managed ignore his distractors and save the Union.

This is one Southerner that has to admire that. George Bush is not likely to back down either.

On the contrary, "there's the evidence" that you don't have a clue.

how long did they run against Reagan?

Until he died...and when his popularity and respect from the nation could not be denied, they tried to act as if they always respected him. Ha!

Write yourself in, and tell all your GOP friends to do so as well. Hey, you might make the morning news!

Oh boy, here we go... Are we ready for the MSM/DEMs suicidal watch???

Yep I'm ready! Let the MSM/DEMs have at it election night. Until then what we must do is convince the 'I'm staying home this election' to get out and vote so as not to commit political suicide.
