Forty-seven percent (47%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove. Those are by far the best numbers for the President since mid-February.
The spike is fueled largely by a resurgence of support among the Presidents base. Eighty-five percent (85%) of Republicans now offer their approval. At its low point earlier in the year, just 66% of the GOP faithful approved of his job performance.
In January and much of February, the Presidents Job Approval ratings were in the mid-40s. Then, they fell sharply and have hovered around 40% ever since. Fifty percent (50%) of men and 44% of women now say they somewhat or strongly approve of the Presidents performance. Overall, 24% of Americans Strongly Approve and 38% Strongly Disapprove.
Since this is just the third day of a bounce, it remains to be seen whether this reflects lasting change or is nothing more than statistical noise. The Rasmussen Reports daily updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. Most of the interviews for todays update were completed before President Bushs address to the nation two nights ago. Fridays results will be the first based entirely upon interviews conducted after the speech and after the 9/11 anniversary.

I think a lot of people are still mad about illegal immigration, spending, Iraq, etc., but are looking at the Dems' primary results and constant tinfoil-hat rhetoric and thinking the alternatives to the Repubs are damn scary.
It's all pretty simple. Presidential approval ratings have been almost directly inversely proportional to the price of gasoline for as long as I can remember.
Good news.
Oh boy, here we go... Are we ready for the MSM/DEMs suicidal watch???
LOL.
Really shows the ignorance of the populace, don't you think?
Nancy Pelosi as speaker is about as scary as it gets.
I see reaffirmations of the ignorance of the populace with such boring regularity these days that I don't even notice it anymore.
This has to be the President's highest numbers on Rasmussen since August 2005.
9/11 back on the minds of people and a reminder of who the bad people are, the terrorists not Preident Bush. I hope President Bush continues to talk about protecting the American people. That is what the our Federal gov't is for.
BTTT
That's getting dangerously close to the dreaded 50% mark if one is a Democrat.
The MSM would just hate to not be able to mention the President's low approval ratings.
Which is pretty freaking scary if one is honest with oneself. I am as partisan as the come but it's not too cool if a monopoly can jerk the electorate around like a puppet on a string. There's the evidence, the President is responsible for the price of gasoline. If he can't manage it, he can't stay in office.
If he keeps this up, he might even get re-elected. /s
Wow are you calling them out! I like the phrase though...Political Suicide Club "Conservatives"; a nice retort to the "Country Club Republican" nonsense.
Damn straight. You may not like your car but that doesn't mean you'll trade it for something worse.
