The investigation into the case of a U.S. servicewoman who reappeared as mysteriously as she vanished will continue, a senior defense official said Tuesday, adding that something about her story didn't add up. I've been waiting for more information to comment. I don't think she wanted to go on her honeymoon.

horny air farce female with ties to terrorists?
Don't forget - to the USAF, war is NOT to close in and destroy - it is only a means to "persuade" people to come together and talk over their troubles. As they teach at the USAF academy

My GUESS is that she found a boyfriend...one who was looking for intelligence.
She's VERY embarassed and ashamed right now...she was duped and doped. If she had vital intelligence to give it should be considered compromised.

What is a woman doing over there anyway? If the feminists want women over there, why not send Hillary? If they kidnapped her, she'd be returned soon enough.

This is beginning to sound like a copy of that fiance Georgia gal who staged her own disappearance days before the wedding.
I can't remember her name, but can remember her Nancy Pelosi eyes.

...a senior defense official said Tuesday, adding that something about her story didn't add up. The "senior defense official" should keep his mouth shut.
...but, her story doesn't add up.

I doubt she found a boyfriend or hooked up with the enemy.
My guess is that she felt she needed a break (maybe a bad combination of war, her recent marriage and a stressful time of the month for her) and she just wanted to be alone for a few days.
But now she feels stupid and realizes that Air Force Majors, even female ones, aren't suppossed to go AWOL whenever they get stressed out and she felt she had to concoct a story in order to rejoin the U.S. forces.

This sort of story, has a familiar ring to it....I think it has happened before...something called the morning-after, or maybe cold-feet, or what hell, am I doing here?....the question is; who was the other "person"?

I think this is a wait and see.
However, possibilities:
1) As stated,narcotic drug in her drink, bomb and note in her pocket, abduction for nefarious and unknown purposes; 2) nervous breakdown of previously reliable officer, breakdown manifests itself in strange action and delusions;
3) Romantic meeting and elopement with unknown dark stranger, second thoughts and attempt to return to real life using strange story;
4) Romantic liaison, threat of blackmail for military secrets, attempt to cover with confused story;
5)Possible kidnapping, ransom paid, use of improbable story as cover for payment of ransom.
Anyway, I hope that this was something done to her rather than something she did and that it will not result in disiplinary action. I suspect that her service career is over in any case.

Kyrgyz police said Monday that Metzger, who was serving a tour at the U.S. military base in Manas, gave confused accounts about her absence and refused to make further statements after consulting with the U.S. Embassy. Confused accounts could be explained by shock and most especially by language difficulties. I doubt the Major speaks Russian, or at least speaks it very well. I expect some of the Krygz police speak some English, but not well. Lots of room for confusion just in the language difficulties. When the embassy told her to shut up, she took the (very good) advice. Let the Embassy and the OSI deal with the Krygz authorities.
