Anti-Kim Jong-il Poster at a Public Site [2006-09-12 ]

Locals at the scene saying, "There was similar one last year." "Yeah, it's still music to my ears."

A video is smuggled out from N. Korea, which shows an anti-Kim Jong-il poster at a busy market place at Danchon, S. Hamkyong Province, N. Korea.

Locals watching an anti-Kim Jong-il poster at a black market near the train station and talking to each other, at Danchon, S. Hamkyong Province
<captured from Fuji TV broadcast>

This was filmed by a N. Korean defector, who snuck into Danchon  in last May. Fuji TV of Japan aired it on 6pm, Sept. 11.

The poster says, 'Military first policy is starving people. Give us rice, too, not just soldiers."

Watching the poster, a woman commented, "I heard that there was a similar poster last year." Then a man replied, "Yeah, it's still music to my years."

This is the first time that a video captured the scene of anti-Kim Jong-il poster showing up at a public place inside N. Korea , and people talk about it openly, while watching it.

This video has a special importance because it suggests that open anti-Kim Jong-il activities inside and outside of N. Korea may not be far away.

Kim Jong-il may lose control of N. Korea soon. Once the change starts in N. Korea, where would N. Korea end up when the dust settles?

The Koreas will unify when the North's Stalinist regime finally collapses.

There will be a long difficult period of adjustment similar to what Germany experience -- possibly longer and probably more difficult.

Just my lay opinion of course.

"when the dust settles"

I expect NKorea to look very much like the current Chinese govt once a coup occurs. And, I believe the Chinese are behind the recent signs of unrest.

The Chinese are the only country with people on the ground there, and the only govt which can assure the NK generals they will be protected.

However, I DON'T believe the Chinese are pulling the trigger...yet. I think they are just sending powerful signals to Kim...signals he will hear. If he complies with what Bejing demands (chill out!!) and returns to the six party talks he'll be allowed to keep his little fiefdom. If not, he's out and we'll see the military take over. Once that occurs there'll be a new "politboro" and a fresh opening of that country.

Two anti-Kim posters in a year?

It is good to hear how positively these are received. I pray that the people of both N. Korea and Iran take their countries back.

I think you're right.

Germany is still struggling with post-unification issues, both economic and social.

I expect that North Korea, because of its ass-backwards economic and social policies, will be a serious drain on South Korea's resources.
