Aleaxander Haig, like the leader he was, took charge of White House operations after Reagan was shot. The scumbag liberal newsrooms attempted to portray Haig as making himself the interim President.

A pretty sobering moment," said Lewis Libby, Cheney's chief of staff.

And ruthless criminal, traitor to our intelligence force, evil betrayer of secrets, teller of lies and--oh, wait, I thought this was a quote from David Corn, sorry...

The fact the left is painting this "take charge" picture of Richard Clarke, you'd think George Washington was a slacker.

I agree. He said that he was in charge until the VP got back to the White House.
He was not trying to take over the country like many moonbats like to think.
I love Al Haig.

I am actually a little surprised that it wasn't the President who would have been asked.

The order came from the President originally, but there was some pointless controversy over that. In any case, only one group of fighters ever got the order, according to the 9/11 Commission Report. It is sad that the protocol for having to shoot down an aircraft was not worked out years ago, when the question was asked then forgotten.

Remember the flap over the shootdown order supposedly coming from him and not the President?

In reality, the President ordered it. Cheney, being in the chain of command, put it into action from the bunker.

Well I mean Richard Clarke IS an ABC "news" consultant.

Remember folks, it as a fictionalization. You have to take the good with the bad.

All in all it was a good movie, save the lionization of Richard Clarke.

I was wondering about that! Good God...I thought perhaps I had missed something. Watching that, you would have thought he was running the government and making all the decisions!

Clarke thinks he was in charge. He's a legend in his own mind. After seeing Cheney as VP for six years, and knowing what he was like as Sec. Def, he was not a "follower" of Clarke. Cheney was in charge in that bunker. Not Clarke.

The same people who dispel anything the Warren Commission say, are the same people who SWEAR by the 9/11 Commission. It doesn't make any sense.

Its been a number of years but my recollection is seeing Haig in some news conference saying "I'm in charge here." So it was a fair charge against Al based on what he said. Having said that Al Haig had guts and we need more like him.

"If anyone should be happy about the way they were portrayed in the "Path to 9-11" its Richard Clarke."

According to the DUmmified Google page one, Clarke is quoted as saying that the film is all wrong.....LOL....."Dem bites DUmmies!"

...or Dhimmies (same thing)
