As horrified Americans watched the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, unfold on their television sets, Vice President Dick Cheney directed the U.S. government's response from an emergency bunker.

You mean Clark wasn't in charge!
Clark thought he was Al haig for a moment...its the stress man....
Al Haig! I was struggling to remember his name! LOL!
And Mary Matalin was there... there is now way she would allow Clarke to trump Cheney either!
I hope others will be able to add more photos from the bunker. Richard Clarke's "hero" status in the bunker...well actually throughout the movie, needs to be de-bunked before it becomes urban legend.
Clarke was in the bathroom. He'd had a lot of iced tea--oh, wait, wrong Demo-bot...
I think Al Haig gets a bad rap for that, if you listen to his entire statement instead of it being taken out of context, it's much hyped. :)
The ABC movie Part Two had two overall purposes:
1Trash Tenet
2-Sell Richard Clarke
Dick Clarke was in charge........I saw the Movie!
If anyone should be happy about the way they were portrayed in the "Path to 9-11" its Richard Clarke.
Thanks for this story. I wouldn't mind Cheyne as president.
"The vice president said yes again," remembered Josh Bolton, deputy White House chief of staff. "And the aide then asked a third time. He said, 'Just confirming, sir, authority to engage?' And the vice president -- his voice got a little annoyed then -- said, 'I said yes.'"
It is hard to imagine having to give that order. I am actually a little surprised that it wasn't the President who would have been asked.
BUSTED! From Who's Hot to Who's Not in record time!
Amazing! Not ONE word about Clark in there with them! HA!
Can you help me look for what Mary Matalin has written about that day in the bunker? PHerhaps she has written articles.
Lol, It is like Richard Clarke's press agent wrote the script.
Yup, I think that was him........Condi froze in front of the TV sets and he did all the work. She begged him to take charge!
In a way I agree. Clarke came off rather well. At worst someone who made mistakes but overall knew what he was doing.
