I actually don't think the Klintoonistas were even worried about their legacy.
They can debate all day long about whether/when Pak should have been notified about the missile strike on bin Laden. (Although it's not convenient for them that they (1) didn't inform the CIA that they were telling the Pakies and (2) told the Pakies in enough time for someone there to rat (read: Rat) to bin Laden.)
I think what the Klintoonistas were really concerned about was the simply visual of the Sinkmeister saying "I did not have sexual relations with that woman . . . Ms. Lewinsky . . ."
That 10 seconds of tape, in the midst of all the others, said more than millions and millions of words of blather about the Klintoon administration's policy (non)decisions.
The Rats know the effect of that tape and all it evokes, deep and wide, across the fruited plain. They know that, no matter how they rail against the VRWC for going after Klintoon and no matter how they wail it was Starr's War and so on, those few words, spoken by a pathological liar, are their gravestone.
Bubba said it ("I did not have sexual relations with that woman . . . Ms. Lewinsky"). He cannot attribute it to a "misquote" or claim it was "taken out of context." He cannot claim it was not a lie or that he was not responsible for lying and the decision to lie to the America people.
There is no excuse for his conduct or his lie. Both are despicable and appear even more so over time.
And THAT, friends, is what all the hullabaloo was about.
Many people might not even catch the full implications of the fact that the CIA had men on the ground, ready to catch/kill OBL, that they thought they had a "go" and then the Klintoons got their panties in a wad.
But most people know very well what it means when the President of the United States stands up at a news conference, addresses them (ostensibly) in the eye, and speaks a bold-faced, adolescent lie.
I just want to pop in here and mention how absolutely enthralled I was with the "Path to 911" movie and Rush is describing my sentiments about the film completely.
Because I don't know what they cut out but what they showed was positively amazing.
Add to my enchantment, I had no idea that the WTC attacks even happened in 1993! I don't know what I was doing then but maybe I was still a liberal. Bill Clinton changed my world view forever and this was a personal thing. He stunk and that was when I pulled my head up from somewhere and started paying attention.
For sure I know about the WTC 93 attack now but when it was happening I had not a clue. There was no Internet, Rush..well I didn't listen to him then, don't know if he was around then.
My President sure didn't tell me about the attack as Clinton didn't WANT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT IT! Clinton loved feel-good speeches and what better opportunity than when the country's under attack by foreign elements? Yet Clinton said not a word to the nation and this was on purpose, don't tell me not.
Any fool watching that movie last night, and count me in amongst the fools as so much of it was very new to me, knew who the hell fell down on the job during the 90's. The message that ole Bill's mischieveousness in the Oval office with Monica DID affect this country adversely came through loud and clear. The man wanted to be loved and he wanted blow jobs. Osama Bin Laden and such as threats against the country were such a bother.
Just so y'all know how a liberal of the 90's views that ABC movie. Every day more and more former liberals get a clue. Hang in there.

Exactly. That point is always understated. For Bush and his people to do what would have had to have been done to detect and stop 9-11, the Bush administration would have had to have literally broken the law and break rules that were put in place by the Clinton administration. That's an interresting bit of irony when his critics always attack him for lying and breaking the law. For Bush to have stopped the 9-11 attacks, he would have had to have ordered his administration to do what his critics today accuse him of doing. How bitterly ironic? That is how I will confront liberals from now on when they say Bush could have done more to stop 9-11. Liberals always want it both ways.

I had the remote close by just in case it portrayed the Clinton years as all sunshine, rainbows, and gumdrops like the libs seem to think it was, but it was really riveting.
I'm happy the thugs in the dimwit party didn't get their way...ABC may have conceded to edits [CENSORSHIP] but not to pulling it.

Yes that is what's really ironic. I'm just guessing, but I bet the ratings would have been half or less what they were last night of not for the media firestorm that Clinton and his cronies stirred up all last week. Clinton created a LOT of viewers last week. Millions of people wanted to see what it was that Clinton didn't want to be seen. If it's not true why would he mind so much? Fahrenheit 9-11 wasn't true, and Bush never demanded it pulled, and it came with NO disclaimers. Pathway has no less than SIX disclaimers. That says it all.
