9/11 show aired despite Clinton protests

US network ABC aired "documdrama" The Path to 9/11, despite angry claims by aides to former president Bill Clinton that it unfairly tarred his record on hunting terrorists.

Mr Clinton's camp complained the movie, the first part of which was shown on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, contained fabricated scenes and misrepresented the Democrat president as slow to chase down Osama bin Laden.

Ex-Clinton aides based criticisms on early previews of the movie, which they said inaccurately portrayed actions of senior figures such as former secretary of state Madeleine Albright and former national security advisor Sandy Berger.

Despite going ahead with the movie, ABC included a disclaimer before the opening scenes, which reappeared after the first 90 minutes, which said noted the presence of "fictionalised" scenes.

"The movie is not a documentary," the disclaimer read, adding that its action was drawn from a number of sources, including the independent report into the September 11 attacks, personal interviews and other published materials.

However, the movie did contain scenes critical of the Clinton administration. In one, Mr Berger was seen as unwilling to give the go-ahead on an operation to arrest bin Laden.

Mr Berger said in response to reports based on previews of the movie that such an incident never took place.

All Clinton was interested in was partying, giving away secrets to the PRC, partying, raising money and partying.

You said -- "Big deal! ABC cut scenes that showed Clinton's record on terrorism."

I saw the "cut scenes" and I didn't see the particular thing you are talking about being cut. Take a look at the cut scenes and then tell me which one you're referring to.

You said -- "I suppose the currenadmiinstration will be up for criticism tomorrow."

It's quite a "strain" and a "stretch" to criticize "8 years" -- versus -- "8 months". It just wouldn't come out the same, no matter how hard you tried.

currenadmiinstration

Yikes. That's a heck of a typo.

ABC is as liberal as any other of the alphabet networks. We'll see, but I don't think they'll have any difficulty in making the last eight months seem as long as the previous eight years.

In fact, they've already brought the story up to 12-31-199 so there's less than two years remaining and 2.5 hours to cover it in. (Which means they used 2.5 hours to cover seven years and will now use 2.5 hours to cover 21 months.)

I'm amazed it ever got to air

I am too. They should have shown it in its entirety.., along with the Clinton threat letters at the beginning and the end.

"The Clinton Legacy just hit the shredder tonight."

Clinton will easily survive this (he survived all of this when it first came out years ago) and he will actually be held in higher esteem by the moonbat crowd.

As I said earlier, ABC did a great job and showed Clinton for the slimebag trash he is. ABC will pay a price for this of course one day. Remember and never forget Vince Foster.

ABC removed things that made Clinton look bad.

Unfortunately the major items they removed were TRUE. In the case of Berger being unable to get in touch with Clinton for hours, this was very true, Clinton was on the golf course. This is corroborated by at least 3 sources. ABC removed it. ABC also removed the entire scene which shows Masood and the American agent planning to get Bin Laden, saying "We've got him, we've got bin Laden, can we proceed, do we have authorization?", after which Berger refuses to authorize and hangs up. This was a HUGE scene to remove, as it leaves the viewer (at least 3 I spoke to) totally confused about just what it was that Berger was resisting to authorize. The family members I spoke to had no idea what the significance of that scene was, although the Amy Madigan tantrum later gave them some inkling, but it just wasn't the same. ABC purposely decided to skewer the creative power of the film to please their true Democrat masters.

Generally the word of confessed or convicted felons are treated with a degree of skepticism.

Maddie was a caricature. (sp) What a hoot!

That was Jack Bauer's Mom! I say give her an Emmy for portraying Halfbright with such nasty arrogance.

I did not see that in the "cut scenes". I do not believe that was removed. The cut scenes were posted for everyone to see. I'm not sure where you're getting your information that this was cut.

You are so right. This docu-drama-with-fictionalized-whatever made one thing COMPLETELY CLEAR... We are in a WAR. We can't run from it or play silly little political games with it, we MUST confront it. This is the most important REALITY in this TV presentation

The actor who played Clinton was also very good. Oh wait... not an actor? I dunno... Clinton's whole life has been an act.

The majority of that scene was *in* the movie Sunday evening. The only part removed (according to the "cuts" which were shown) was just the "hang-up" and that was only a *fraction* of a second long. Thus, it was *barely* cut. And even if it had been in there (according to what I saw), it would not have changed the overall tenor of the scene (in any case). So, I don't think it made too much of a difference.

AND, in addition to that, if it had been left in there, it was sort of *confusing* anyway. It almost looked like a "transition" to the following scenes in the story. So, I don't think it had as much impact as you think it might have had.

It has impact if it is told like you're saying it. But, it did not have the impact (as it does in *words*) because the scene is confusing.

"And if you don't like the hits to the Clinton administration, well, welcome to the club," Lehman said. "The Republicans have lived with Michael Moore and Oliver Stone and most of Hollywood as a fact of life."

Me thinks the Clinton's have a guilty conscience. They know what happened they just don't want all of us to know what happened.

Like all good propaganda, there were many truthful factoids woven into the script.  These factoids made the presentation interesting to watch.

What was missing, however, was any mention of the middle east  connection to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing - which has been  well documented by Jayna Davis.

Nice attempt at a white wash by gayBC, but there are still a few grey black areas.

Just ask Michael Loudenslagerwho would no doubt agree that the continued cover-up of the ME / OKC connection raises a lot of unanswered questions.

Please pay no attention to the carpet baggers who are looting the Republic while you are watching the circus.
