*** NO - our Lovable Little Fuzzball is not dead!!! ***

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - A new federal courthouse would bear one of the most famous names in southeast Missouri - and the nation - under legislation offered by Sens. Kit Bond and Jim Talent.
Decades before his namesake grandson achieved prominence as a conservative commentator, Rush H. Limbaugh was practicing law and amassing a long record of civic service to Cape Girardeau and the state. He died in 1996 at age 104, after practicing law for nearly 80 years.
He was widely called Rush H. Limbaugh Sr., to distinguish him from his son - the late Rush H. Limbaugh Jr., who shared the law practice - and his grandson Rush H. Limbaugh III, the radio host.
This month, Bond and Talent introduced a Senate bill designating Cape Girardeau's new courthouse as the Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. Federal Courthouse. The $50 million building is expected to open next year.
Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Mo., said discussions about a name began about the same time construction started in 2004, and Limbaugh was the most fitting symbol of both the legal profession and dedication to community service.
"It was kind of a no-brainer," said Emerson, who plans to introduce the same bill in the House. "He was just a perfect person."
Limbaugh's son, U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Sr., said he was humbled and surprised by the news.
"It's not very often that our family is speechless, and I'm pretty close," said the judge, whose son - Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. - serves on the Missouri Supreme Court.
A spokeswoman for Bond said the bill will probably clear a Senate committee within the next several days.
Emerson foresees no difficulties gaining approval in both houses of Congress.
"We're not talking about controversial legislation," she said.
OK, at what point might bodyfat dispose a person to say, metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes?
Perhaps you think that wouldn't shorten a person's life?
Answer, please.
Ha! So was I. I wondered how I missed that one.
don't ruin a perfectly good Limbaugh thread with a stupid food fight
Whoa ... can we start calling Rush "trip"?
What is the reason Rush and Marta split up? I really never heard much about the divorce. Do you know?
But lemme tell you, Rush is not young, and Rush is DEFINATELY not svelte, the way he was for a while, there.
Hey, OK...he doesn't have to be svelte. He doesn't have to be any thinner than pretty fat. But it's getting OUT OF CONTROL, again.
I really, really cannot see who would replace Rush, if he up and dropped dead. We wouldn't be sunk, but we'd be in deep kim-chee, for sure.
I think that he has a pet cat (Punkin) adds a few years to his life
Great post. BUMP
Regarding Marta one small complaint I had is that when they were an item he started to go long on the golf-related schpiels, which I richly disliked.
The last I heard she'd started a health-related magazine, and I think it folded.
But I really liked the idea that Rush would be around a long time to buoy us, and terrorize liberals.
I mean...why should AL FRANKEN be the healthy one...?!
Hopefully he'll fall under a bus, or start mainlining heroin, or something.
Ahh. So she was responsible for his weight loss. I missed several monthes of listening to Rush around the time of their divorce. I was really shocked to find out they got a divorce. Did he ever say why? Anyone?
And a legal code on loan from God.
What do you bet the Democrats go absolutely Apesh*t over this? It won't matter that it's not named for the radio host. Thinking is never a Democrat strong suit. They will just reflexively stage protests, act classless and make threats. It's what they do best.
And it was her idea after their marriage that she and Rush hire a live-in cook, an idea they went through with.
And when the left continued their, "Rush is a fat a$$" inertia blather, he was fit as a fiddle.
Calm your body fat down- what about the "liberaldom line"? You served that one up-
Cape Girardeau is a really nice town and all, but $50M? I can't imagine that busy of a docket.
free --> freedom, liberal --> "liberaldom" [sic]
When Rush goes, I'd say that's like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, all rolled into one.
Not even close
I listen to and love rush for over 15 years
Rush has never said anything at all about the break up with Marta.
LOL!! I was thinking the very same thing! Most libs would have a Linda Blair moment!
