Sacramento Bee tries to take a shot at pro-troop group, Move America Forward. You can send an email to the reporter, Todd Milbourn, at: tmilbourn@sacbee.com

Iraq war backers proudly pugnacious

But critics say Move America Forward may abuse nonprofit status.

When Cindy Sheehan's anti-war protests last year drew widespread news coverage, a Sacramento nonprofit jumped to defend President Bush with a series of "counterprotests" against the Berkeley mother.

When Democratic House leader Nancy Pelosi called Bush an "incompetent leader" in 2004, the group responded with an "action alert" calling Pelosi a "domestic enemy."

And as a liberal U.S. senator pushed to censure Bush earlier this year amid revelations that his administration was secretly tapping domestic phone calls, the organization countered with a campaign to censure Jimmy Carter instead, calling the former president an ally of terrorists and dictators.

The efforts have given the group, Move America Forward, a platform in the increasingly polarized debate over the war.

But the group's rise hasn't come without controversy.

On the eve of the 2006 elections, the Internal Revenue Service is cracking down on nonprofit organizations that stray into party politics. Critics say Move America Forward is ripe for scrutiny.

"We don't pretend to be mild-mannered," said Sal Russo, Move America Forward's chief strategist and a longtime Republican political consultant. "We believe you can't separate the troops from the mission. And we believe that when somebody's wrong, they need to be called out on it."

Pro-troop group comes under attack from MSM outlet. Sure would be nice for you to drop a note to the reporter and let him know that this newspaper attacking a group without any evidence of wrongdoing - other than supporting the war on terrorism - is a bit despicable.

Move America Forward comes under attack from a liberal newspaper. We would certainly appreciate a show of solidarity by sending a firm and respectful note letting this reporter know that such attacks on an organization, without anything wrong having been done by the group, is a lousy thing to do. Basically the reporter has taken negative comments from a collection of anti-war liberals and come to the conclusion of 'Shame on Move America Forward for Supporting This Unjust War.' Can you help send this guy a message?

Sacramento Bee takes a bunch of lousy cheap shots at Move America Forward (including Howard Kaloogian, Melanie Morgan and company). A PING to ask for your help and a response to this reporter.

Drawing a bead on Americans and our military. Until Toddy's IRS has Soros' MoveOn.org crowd in prison, they better leave Move America Forward alone.

I wrote the reporter with almost the same request and thanked him for reminding me again why we canceled our subscription years ago.

You would think with the Bee getting thinner and thinner on content, that they would dispense with the biased part of the newspaper. But, I guess no such luck.

You threaten an IRS audit because you are the mighty and great news media and you are the arbitrers of truth and justice.

If you say Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame are victims of an evil military-industrial complex and conspiracy, then it must be true.

If you say that Bill Clinton, Sandy Berger, Madeleine Albright and Richard Clarke were heroes in the war on terrorism but Donald Rumsfeld is a criminal, then it must be true.

And if you say that it is unacceptable to have a non-profit group that SUPPORTS not just the men and women of the United States military but the missions they are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan well then you must defame them, smear them, and yes, threaten to go to the IRS and demand that they be appropriately scolded.

If move America forward is ripe for IRS scrutiny them Mo-On .Org is so over ripe as to be rotten.

Whats is this crap with the IRS, they dont investigate Churches who hold Democratic rallies, thay dont investigate blacks who run rainbow Coalition or who fron for Al Sharpton, they dont investigate Billie Jeff and hillary who became overnioght millionaires while working for the government, Yet the instant an organisation forms that may be harmful to democrats they are all over it like stink on a dog turd.

Clinton used the IRS to punish anyone who opposed him and obviously the same buttwipes who ran it then are still there.
