To me this is the most outrageous part of his whole trip. For him to speak at that Cathedral, where Pres. Bush gave the greatest speech of his life after 9/11, is just too much.
At least I thought that is where they held a memorial service after 9/11.....
Why would the State Dept. allow this?

This monster speaking in a Christian Church?
That's just sick. What is the Bishop thinking?

The Bush administration did not oppose his visit. I dare say this does not help Bush appear to be strong against terrorism. While I stand by Bush's side in the WOT, I strongly believe he needs to make changes and make them soon.

Man for a country that's gotten more and more anti American over the last 2 or 3 years there sure are a lot of Iranian leaders hanging out here in the USA and giving speeches. Why all of sudden are these people rock stars ???

I keep forgetting, who is that heads up the State Department? I also distinctly remember voting for a Republican in the last two Presidential elections.

The time has come that in the midst of chaos, war, violence, terror, and insecurity on the one the hand, and poverty, ignorance and backwardness on the other, we seek to envision a world of peace, morality, ethics and progress for all humankind, said Khatami.(in his best Bill Clinton "I did not have sex with that woman" voice - cellos in the background)
