Under growing pressure from Democrats and aides to former President Bill Clinton, ABC is re-evaluating and in some cases re-editing crucial scenes in its new mini-series The Path to 9/11 to soften its portrait of the Clinton administrations pursuit of Osama bin Laden, according to people involved in the project.
Among the changes, ABC is altering one scene in which an actor playing Samuel R. Berger, the former national security adviser, abruptly hangs up on a C.I.A. officer during a critical moment in a military operation, according to Thomas H. Kean, a consultant on the ABC project and co-chairman of the federal Sept. 11 commission.
Mr. Berger has said that the scene is a fiction, and Mr. Kean, in an interview, said that he believed Mr. Berger was correct and that ABC was making appropriate changes.
The reassessment came as two Clinton aides mounted an unusual attack last night on the motives of Mr. Kean, a Republican and a former governor of New Jersey. In a letter to Mr. Kean, the two aides, Bruce R. Lindsey and Douglas Band, wrote that his defense of the mini-series is destroying the bipartisan aura of the 9/11 Commission, on whose findings the project is partly based. They asserted that Mr. Kean was driven by payments from ABC or his own partisan politics.

Clinton aides mounted an unusual attack last night on the motives of Mr. Kean
Unusual my butt! S.O.P. is more like it.
Using you to mark my spot. I need zzzz's!
Nite..Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings and listen to Rush!
Like I was saying, a full court press.
SOBs.
Surprise, surprise - - ABC is running like a scared bunny rabbit.
"Bipartisan?" Clinton made sure one of the members was a sleezebag lawyer who defended him during Whitewater, (Ben Veniste) and the another was a crook who used her appointed position to cover up treason by the Clintons. (Gorelick.) They insured the final report would be scrubbed of any incriminating evidence.
The 9/11 commission was about as non-partisan as anything Klink touches.
I predict this whole thing is going to blow up BIG TIME right in the faces of Clinton and every Clintonista and Democrat who cried like big fat babies over a simple miniseries. Now people want to know, What is the big deal? Clinton wasn't even President when 9/11 happened so why is he so upset? and other inconvenient questions.
The only thing Unusual is.. Network TV portraying Liberals in anything but a Fraudulently Favorable light.
It will be interesting to see if this becomes a "cut and run" by ABC.
Now that is laugh-out-loud funny!
ping
Freepmail! ( It will put a smile on your face)
Now I'm going to be for sure.
Nite
be-bed..geez
There is nothing unusual about "Arkanside" being carried out or threatened. We've all seen it before.
Amazingly, I had forgotten just how evil these people really are. If nothing else, this episode will show everyone just how corrupt the National Democrat Party has become after 14 years of Clintonization.
The Left is going insane over this; they are exposing their true motives of wanting us all to forget about 9/11.
I had forgotten how violenty ILL they can make me feel.
I always hated them because of the way it makes me feel to hate them so much.
Kean is a fool...imagine hiring yourself out as a consultant on this tragedy...typical politician...always on the make for cash.
Nevertheless, he pales besides the arch partisan Ben Verniste...
I would like to read a book about how the 911 panel was assembled. A total political trade off ensuring no accountability and enhancing Bin Laden's legend as as a genius.
You have too much faith in the intelligence of the American people. The swing voters are largely unintelligent, tuned-out people. All they know, if anything, is that ABC is backing down because Clinton said they were unfair. They are just as likely to believe Clinton and not question his motives, especially when ABC isn't defending itself.
