September 5, 2006 -- Seeking a 30-year prison term for terror lawyer Lynne Stewart, prosecutors argued the attorney engaged for more than two years in "extremely dangerous and devious" conduct to help blind Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman communicate with followers despite U.S. efforts to silence him.
Stewart's "egregious, flagrant abuse of her profession, abuse that amounted to material support to a terrorist group, deserves to be severely punished," prosecutors wrote...to the Manhattan federal judge who will sentence her next month.
Stewart was convicted in February 2005 of providing material support to terrorists by releasing the statement of her client, Abdel-Rahman, who was imprisoned for life after being convicted of plotting to blow up New York City landmarks.
Her lawyers argued in July that Stewart should receive no prison time. They said a harsh sentence would frighten other skilled lawyers from representing notorious clients and that Stewart's three decades of distinguished work for indigent clients should speak louder than a single serious mistake.

Then the witch can just die in the slammer, like John Gotti did.
Is this witch in jail waiting sentencing?
That's a truly ugly, ugly picture.
Would she be housed at Sing Sing?
She is an enemy of America. It's not much more complicated than that.
She should be hanged.
That's a winner.
Any competent judge would say,
"That's irrelevant.
"This trial is to address your client's 'mistake.' [LOL]
"Address that OR SIT DOWN."
Da ceeyaotch aided and abetted enemies plotting to MURDER Americans!
Hang her high, or better yet strip her citizenship, and ship her slime loving lard to Iran!!
Heh! Heh! Heh! Heh! Heh!
I'd like to see an exception made in her case. She needs to share a cell with Sheik Omar. And she wont even have to turn the lights out.
Once in a while, one gets a ray of good news...30 years! I doubt that she'll get it, but I'm impressed that they asked for it.
She knew perfectly well that what she was doing was wrong. She did things like cover for her co-conspirator - (the interpreter) - while he received messages in Arabic from the sheik - by making comments about innocuous, nonsense things like chocolates, etc., to confuse listeners and prevent them from being aware of what was really being discussed. It was not only not a mistake, it was planned.
Re your post #18 - That was an interesting article. Thanks for the link.
