Don't let the potheads ruin freedom

Generally, there are two types of marijuana users. First is the most commonly stereotyped “stoner,” depicted in the media of movies (e.g. Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High) and television (e.g. Shaggy from Scooby Doo). These are the dead-end job, ambitionless abusers who ingest marijuana to escape their already dismal lives. They represent the image which is most often associated with marijuana use. Certainly, the average American high school is teeming with similar directionless pot-smoking losers, further cementing this public perception.

"-- this whole stinking mess is an exercise in loopholes. --"

True words, -- the mess started when Congress first started to use their power to regulate commerce as a "loophole" power to prohibit.
-- Does anyone even know the first instance of that abuse?

"-- The unlawful use of or threatened use of force or violence against individuals or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies, often to achieve political, religious, or ideological objectives.--FBI definition of terrorism. --"

Well put. -- Your opponents will be unable to respond in any rational fashion. -- But then they rarely do.

I seek peace, the peace he gave me, but the beast is at my door and his mark is upon your hand as you type in favor of war, his mark upon your forehead expressed in every thought about the word as you seek reign rather than witness.

What have I typed in favor of war? And in God's kingdom, I will not seek to reign, but to serve.

Ideally, yes. But any man made government can and will eventually corrupt the word of God to some degree so it matters little.

Okay, at least you're honest. The Constitution matters little to you. To me, you are as great a threat to my liberty as the Islamofascists.

"The fact that they want to continue their selfish, self-indulgent behavior at the expense of family, financesand health should be a clear indicator of just how much control marijuana has over their lives. They put marijuana ahead of apparently everything else that is near and dear to them."

Family:
Mt 10:37
He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.

Finances:
Ac 8:20
Keep thy money to thyself, to perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Health:
Jas 2:15-16
And if a brother or sister be naked, and want daily food: And one of you say to them: Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; yet give them not those things that are necessary for the body, what shall it profit?

This herb which you seek to eradicate bears a seed containing the most complete and absorbable combination of amino acids of any plant on the face of the earth. If you take away the best source of necessary proteins available then you may not take refuge in accusing anyone of not providing for health.

Why do you keep quoting the opinion of the losing side?
I'm quoting the patriotic American side. The Constitution lost...exactly the same as it lost in the Dread Scott decision.

Justice Thomas was in the minority in the Raich case. His side lost. Scalia won 6-3. Quote Scalia!
Yes, defending the Constitution is the minority side. You and your socialist buddies over at the NY Times can quote Scalia.

The editorial board of The New York Times:
"We take very seriously the court's concern about protecting the Commerce Clause, the vital constitutional principle that has allowed the federal government to thwart evils like child labor and segregation.

The dissenters in the 6-to-3 decision, Justices Sandra Day O'Connor and Clarence Thomas and Chief Justice William Rehnquist, opened the door for conservatives who want to sharply reduce Congress's use of its power to regulate and protect interstate commerce. These conservatives want to turn the clock back to before the New Deal, when workers were exploited, factories polluted at will and the elderly faced insecure retirements".

The socialists celebrated this decision against conservatives...and you support the socialist victory.

When did interpreting the Constitution become a popularity contest? Having a liberal "living document" majority on the bench doesn't make that interpretation correct. Re-labeling it "original meaning New Federalism" doesn't change it.

Wow...are you actually equating marjuana and smoking marijuana to God? You will really forsake family, finances and health in order to smoke pot?

"What have I typed in favor of war? "

First, there is the inane denial, "even if the 'war on drugs'
is as draconian as pro-drug people say it is," then you go on
to blame the innocent for not bowing to your DEAmen/falsegods/heretics
who don't have the slightest conception of what it meant
for Jesus to have been Christ ( Anointed )

And in God's kingdom, I will not seek to reign, but to serve.

Heb 12:28-29

Therefore receiving an immoveable kingdom, we have grace; whereby let us serve, pleasing God, with fear and reverence. For our God is a consuming fire.

So those who continue to smoke dope even though they risk (according to the pro-legalizers) destroying their families, having their children carted off in the middle of the night, going to jail, losing their jobs, losing their finances and losing their health have no responsibility for their actions? It's somebody else's fault?

Ephesians 6:11-15
Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

"Wow...are you actually equating marjuana and smoking marijuana to God? "

No, I thought it was obvious that you had put fear, family, finance and health before God as Idols in your post and I felt obliged to point out the scriptural admonishments to such action.
You are concerned over what should not be your concern.
This is not the path to peace, the way of the Lord is the path to peace.

Matthew 11:18-19
For John came neither eating nor drinking,
and they say,
'He has a demon.'
The Son of Man came eating and drinking,
and they say,
'Here is a glutton and a drunkard,
a friend of tax collectors and "sinners."
' But wisdom is proved right by her actions."

You should fear the wrath of the Lord for not heeding the word of the Lord.

Ro 14:2-4 For one believeth that he may eat all things: but he that is weak, let him eat herbs.
Let not him that eateth, despise him that eateth not: and he that eateth not, let him not judge him that eateth. For God hath taken him to him.
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? To his own lord he standeth or falleth. And he shall stand: for God is able to make him stand.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

This goes back to my original point about smoking pot as a shortcut to God, idolatry. Apparently you believe that smoking pot makes you rightousness...at least you are implying that. In reality, righteousness only comes from God and that only through the indwelling of God's holy spirit. Depending on a drug for righteousness is at best, addiction, and at worst, idolatry.

I don't take drugs and haven't encouraged anyone to take drugs. If you want to see sinful, just look in the mirror.

I'm perfectly aware that I'm a sinner and I readily acknowledge that. I won't mince words here. By your continued defense of marijuana and legalization you are encouraging the use of marijuana by people, particulary teenagers and possibly younger. I know for a fact that there are young, impressionable minds that read FreeRepublic. How many do you think have started smoking pot because of your words? How many mothers and fathers do you suppose have watched their kids start stealing money from them so they can smoke pot because of your words? How many new burnouts have you created because of your words? How much heartache do you think you've caused to these families because of your words? Any guesses?

When you sin against God, it has its natural consequences, but when the consequences come through human agency, and no harm has come to another (which is the governments purview), by statute, these are not natural consequences.

"How much heartache do you think you've caused to these families because of your words? Any guesses?"

Most of the words I ever post are not mine, but those
of the Bible or of our country's founding fathers.
Those are words I will never regret repeating.
Anyone who would steal to get herb has not been reading
what I have written or quoted. I would rather that young
impressionable minds see the sense in my postings then to
follow after fascist nationalist puritans that deny the word
in its most literal and easily comprehended form while
posing as followers of Christ.
