Thanks Morgan and leilani.
Could you please discuss how the Armitage behavior, the granting of a Visa to Khatami and the Visa Express program for Saudi Arabians show that it is implementing White House policy?
It appears to me as one more (dangerous) example of a government that is unable to move in one direction. The preferrred direction being the national security of the US.
Someone should explain to this idiot the difference between fighting a conventional Total War against a defined nation state with fixed geographical goals and an fighting an asymmetrical threat from a hard to locate, geogrpahically unfixed underground political movement.
Yep, people need to undrstand that there are no moderate moslems because there is no moderate koran!
E.J. Dionne says Republicans are dispirited and won't go out and vote whereas dems want to vote as often as possible. He also says Pubbies can't talk about the, get this, economy.
Are you sure W should have been told?
My very strong memory of the beginning of the Plame controversy was the President's instructions to all to cooperate in the investigation. There had to be a way to engage lawyers in the State department and move the information up the chain to avoid this disaster. And it is a disaster no matter how few 'indictments' came out, the credibility damage to the Presidency an our foreign policy is immense.
That not actually true. If you read Masters of Chaos you can read about the Terrorist base camp the SOF over ran in liberating northern Iraq. The terrorists had, or were in the process of, setting up camp in Iraq.
What I found funny about Casey is that he is arguing to increase the number of Special Forces....why? The dems don't believe in deploying our troops (except maybe to Okinawa) so why increase the number of military troops, no matter what their stripes?
Anybody who watched this and still votes for Casey is dumber than a box of rocks. Or just hates Bush and it spills over to Santorum. Then again, who the hell voted for John Kerry, 48% of the population when Kerry is a guy I'd argue most Americans would totally despise his arrogant, stupid self.
If you're giving out the awards for post of the day, I've got a vote here for you.
OTOH, I've got a stinking hunch (based on the recent uptick in comments from Cheney, Bush and others) that the gloves may very well come off completely in the next week or so; I don't suggest that any of the dims or MSM are going to be addressed re any of their BS, but that the TOPICS addressed are going to be served up hot off the griddle with absolutely no sugar allowed.
Calling the Islamofascists by their proper name was only the first stroke, IMHO.
Casey is just like Hillary Clinton. All fat and no bone. Hot buttons and talking points but no real solutions.
IIRC, the White House counsel was told (by State?) that the Leaker was known. His instructions were to pass that info on to the SP. When asked if the counsel wanted to know who it was, he replied "No." In this way, the WH would have no involvement in what was being investigated as well as the investigation itself.
Another good book. Too bad we don't learn better from history.
Remember that Kerry got together with some members of the media who assured him that their support was worth 15 points in the election. I don't know if that's the right number, but they are still way too powerful.
