Whereas the current Iraqi regime has demonstrated its continuing hostility toward, and willingness to attack, the United States, including by attempting in 1993 to assassinate former President Bush and by firing on many thousands of occasions on United States and Coalition Armed Forces engaged in enforcing the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council;
Whereas members of al-Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq;
Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terrorist organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and safety of American citizens;
Whereas the attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001, underscored the gravity of the threat posed by the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction by international terrorist organizations;
True. The media is vested in changing conservatives.
And there is the answer to all the "Why don't they counter attack". The are and have been but the Junk media simply ignore anything that does NOT fit their propaganda template. Bush went out and gave a fabulous speech to the American Legion. Notice the Junk Media barely even mentioned it? And of course do any of the usual whiner even mention the Speech. Is there an echo chamber to pick up and repeat the points in the speech? NO instead we get the same old whining from the usual suspects in the Conservative Establishment. "Why doesn't Bush fight back"? He is and MAYBE ONE time the usual fraggers MIGHT shoot at our common foes INSTEAD of spending ALL their time shooting Bush in the back???
Elaine Chow, whose remarkable success in prosecuting the abuses of labor union leaders (522 labor leaders convicted so far) has been censored from the liberal news media's coverage.
Sounds interesting, do you have a link?
Ping!
What, you think a leopard can change his spots!
Every election, IMHO.
Rathergate and the current fauxtography scandals (including Katies miracle diet) are only the tip of the iceberg that has managed to break through and give a hint of the utter corruption and incompetence of reporters editors and producers worldwide. The fraudulent stories being spoon fed to Reuters in the Middle East and published without even minimal critical examination are the most upfront examples of how reporters operate today, repeating what favored sources dictate to them, so long as it forwards their leftist, particularly anti-American and anti-Israeli, agendas.
And we come to your second topic, the kidnapped Fox journalists. Your listed topic is are risks greater than ever? You mean are the risks to reporters greater. You should be asking instead about the risks to the honest communication of the truth. Steve Centanni has been emphasizing how sympathetic he is to the Palestinian cause and how their message deserves to be heard. By definition he is not a reporter but an advocate for one side, the murderous terrorist's side, and should never be allowed to cover that region again. Your counterparts at CNN admitted that they covered up Sadams crimes that they knew about so that they could keep their bureau open in Baghdad. Why? What value did it serve except as a propaganda outlet for a mass murderer? And what did Fox or the other news agencies agree to do or to not report on this time?
Your job is to report on events, who, what, when, where, why and how. If you cant do that because of fear then you should say so and leave the area. If you wont do that and instead substitute politically biased diatribes and outright fakery, then your profession has already died.
I think this question of Centanni and Wiig may be the tipping point in the discussion of the failures of the DBM. The main stories right now should be about all the lies and outright fraud that they have been pushing, particularly in the last 15 years, praising Clinton's faux Presidency, covering up his administrations crimes, inventing false accusations against Bush, such as the TANG story or the Florida recount debacle. And the pace and outlandish nature of the lies has continued to accelerate. The Wilson/Plame treason conspiracy is perhaps the least of it. The active propaganda campaign of false stories and refusing to cover real stories from Iraq is clearly giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war. The straightforward way they have worked as the PR arm of Hizbollah and Hamas is astounding and exposes just how stupid they think their audience is, or how desperate and insane they have become.
The DBM has some 'splainin to do.
I know the Social Security taxes won't be raised as long as President Bush is in office.
I said, "If the dems regain control of Congress and the Presidency..."
Agree totally.
Wonderful, wonderful post, STARWISE. I heard that call. I was overwhelmed.
I disagree. I favor the old saying "keep your friends close and your enemies even closer".
I think political battles need recon just as much as military battles.
"Worry" is the wrong word, but I do favor vigilance. Ain't no fun getting blind-sided.
Curious why none of the "All Muslims are enemies crowd" ever bother to consider the fact that the bulk of the fighting, and the vast majority of the dying, on our side of the war is being done by Muslim Iraqis, Afghanis and Pakistanis?
'Zactly!!!!
AGREED!
Hey Chuckie, are you telling me as a US Senator you STILL have not read this despit it being made avaiable to every US Senator as far back as 2003?

He's a 'moderate'. People better wake up. The invitation to Islam has been given... they should know what comes next.
I guess I have to start writing the 2006 version of 'Common Sense'.
Great letter.
