I don't know about you, but by the end of the Bush-bashing festival that was the MSM's coverage of the one-year Katrina anniversary, I was about ready to climb up on my roof with a bedsheet message begging to be evacuated by helicopter.
Neal Gabler also had a complaint about the Katrina anniversary coverage: there wasn't enough of it.
On this evening's Fox News Watch, Gabler made his comment in the context of the panel's discussion of the John Mark Karr fiasco. Griped Gabler:
"The embarrassment isn't that he wasn't guilty, the embarrassment is the disproportionate amount of coverage he got even if he had been guilty. The problem is there [were] virtually no [TV news] minutes devoted to Katrina on the eve of the Katrina anniversary."
Could it be that when he's not on FNW, Neal inhabits Pluto? Anyone living in this solar system surely could not have escaped the flood of Katrina coverage last week.
Fox News Watch/NewsBusters Gabler-from-Pluto ping to Today show list.
I am wondering if they will do a special on Rita. Rita was the same size as Katrina and it wiped out the city of Cameron, LA.
What kind of idiot needs to re-live a hurricane? The only thing I can think of more boring than John Karr coverage are Katrina rememberances. I know, I know...this was to have been a "Bash Bush fiesta" for the Clown Car Media (CCM) to remind us all how "incompetent" Bush was since that was the entire take-away the media and their Democratic allies had from this disaster. But the rest of normal, sane America is sick of it and ready to move on.
I wonder if Karr will confess that he killed Natalee Hollaway?
Simple question for the MSM and the "hate Bush" crowd.
What has been the role of the Federal Governent in domestic Natural Disasters in the past?
They can't answer because their hate and stupidity blind them to historical facts.
Gabler makes me want to throw heavy objects at the screen.
I like it.
How about "katrina crimped Armitage coverage!"
Gabler is the reason I stopped watching Fox News Watch.
I wonder if he'll confess to starting Hurricane Katrina.
I watched Fox News Watch today. Ugh! Not a single word about the over-the-top reporting and punditry over the Wilson/Plame fiasco.
Now that it has gone down in flames I was waiting for any one of them to even mention the ridiculous rhetoric concerning Cheney, Rove or even President Bush. What about Scooter Libby????
Apologies are in order from the press AND Fitz. Hoo boy did they all get that one wrong...but not a word.
News Watch? Not hardly.
Thanks. I just decided MSM or LSM and all the other designations for the flaming fools in the media just didn't do justice to the kind of lib nuttery we get out of them or that those terms were sufficiently descriptive of medIdiocy. Thus CCM.
Neal Gabler is an idiot. Was he kidnapped by terrorists in the week leading up to the katrina anniversary and not given access to tv or the internet? Every time I tuned in to the news there was some mention of Katrina, there was Katrina coverage every day for about a week. Even Access Hollywood mentioned Katrina when they interviewed Spike Lee. Then there was Dr Phil's show about Katrina which I did not bother to watch. It was Katrina, Katrina, Katrina all of last week leading up to Monday.
I could NOT believe that they never mentioned Plamegate on the show supposedly reviewing medianews for the previous week!
I sent the following to Newsbusters.com and to Jim Pinkerton!
Biggest political/media story of the week and your show gave it not one second. Half the time was spent on the pervert Carr and
Photoshopped Katie. I know those also showed the phoniness of the driveby scribblers / dribblers but certainly the destruction of the
media strawman with which they've been beating up the president for three years only to say 'nevermind' when it's proven a fraud, was more worthy of time than anything else presented. We were extremely disappointed not to see Neal reaction; he's still screaming about the 'lies' when the basis of those accusations has been destroyed. Can't you find some liberal who's not a victim of the Bush Derangement Syndrome?
Disappointedly yours,
Great point! That was really the media story of the week.
I couldn't take it.
Smith should just go buy a bath house, and give up on an increasingly incomprehensible "career".
The days of bizarreness, à la Cap'n Dan, are over.
Paging Merriam-Webster. Paging Funk and Wagnalls. Paging Limbaugh Letter.....
That's priceless! Much better than anything anyone else has come up with!
