Al Qaeda No. 2 Releases Tape Inviting Americans to Convert to Islam (Joined by an American)

CAIRO, Egypt — Al Qaeda's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri issued a new videotape Saturday along with a man identified as an American member of the terror network, inviting Americans to convert to Islam.

The 41-minute video, posted on an Islamic militant Web site nine days before the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, had footage of al-Zawahri and a man the video identified as Adam Yehiye Gadahn, an American who the FBI believes attended Al Qaeda training camps in Pakistan and served as an Al Qaeda translator.

Gadahn and al-Zawahiri did not appear together in the footage but were each featured on a split screen. Both wore white turbans and robes.

I may be a bit of an alarmist, but I really think that this time around, the left would attempt to use any major disturbance here - such as an attack - as a way to seize power. I don't know if they could actually get away with it, but I suspect they would try, because they hate their own country just as much as baby-face Adam does.

Gadahn was born Adam Pearlman, the son of musician Phil Pearlman. Gadahn's family raised goats on a farm in Riverside County, California and butchered the goats in accordance with halal food requirements for sale to Muslim groceries. Gadahn's Jewish grandfather was a prominent surgeon named Pearlman but Gadahn's father converted to Christianity and changed his name to "Gadahn", derived from the name of the Biblical figure "Gideon". He was homeschooled until 15, when he moved in with his grandparents in Santa Ana, California. Gadahn was fond of heavy metal music and later briefly listened to fringe fundamentalist Christian radio stations before converting to Islam. There was just a "debate" on fnc between a pubbie rep and a demo rep. Apparently next week, Pelosi and Reid are going to issue a statement about the failed president! LOL. The pubbie on fnc said in response to the dem who was claiming they have the high hand on security issues, asked her, then why is Zawahari saying the exact same things the democrats are saying? It was pretty heated. It is clear that the pubbie is most concerned about the dems continued attempts to weaken america with their anti-Bush, anti-american talking points. Its the adults versus the children. Pubbies understand the war on terror, demies think its a game. Pathetic. This tape from Zawahari should help change public opinion (if you believe the polls) towards the pubbies. Conservatives cannot sit out the 06 election; turning control of anything over to the dems will be disasterous.
