Will Rosie Save The World On The View?
Gay.com ^ | 9-1-06 | Loren King

Will Rosie save the world? Loren King On a recent trip to New York, I looked up to see one of the ubiquitous billboards towering over Times Square -- next to ABC Studios and, appropriately, Toys R Us -- bore a megasize Rosie O'Donnell impishly grinning while holding a bouquet of red roses. The ad, of course, touted Rosie's much-anticipated Sept. 5 debut as co-host of "The View." There she was, the most recognizable gay person on the planet, a woman who has crusaded for gay adoption and publicly wed her longtime partner, Kelli, in a San Francisco ceremony, hawking her appearance on one of the straightest, squarest shows on the air.

Are the red roses a peace offering to viewers whose love for the Queen of Nice might have faded after her acerbic exchange with NRA member Tom Selleck, a court fight with her publisher, or her activism on behalf of gay adoption? Do they signal a sweeter, softer, more feminine Rosie, ready for the hen party that is "The View"?

How anyone can stomach The View is beyond me.

I've seen part of one episode and only because of the guest.

You have a stronger constitution than I do. I wouldn't subject myself to that show on a dare.

You can fairly well imagine the mental stability of this nation's populace by noticing what disgusting material is presented on a daily basis.

I've seen clips from the show here and there. Peeeewwwwwww.

What is worse than the obnoxious girls on the view (except for Miss Conservative) are the brainless twits in the audience.

The View as the "straightest" show?

It was the most leftist looney unwatcahble feminist insanity on the morning dial.

They better not get between Rosie ODonuts and the food service for the show.

Yet another reason why NOT to watch that show.

"They better not get between Rosie ODonuts and the food service for the show."

LOL - I bet the craft service budget has increased a lot!

My sister watches it religiously, why, I do not know.

I saw a commercial for the show tonight featuring O'Donnell in the center..singing, Behar and the blonde also start singing..then at the end Walters says "They're all stars to me"...nice little dig at Star Jones?

Could not pay me to watch those witches, and more so now with Rosie O'Largess on board. No thanks.

Has the View been losing viewers? I don't watch the show but I have not heard the the show is in danger of "dying" and that Rosie needs to come in and save it. I really don't care about the show but for this article to be writen with that title I wonder what the angle is.

Be great if they could round up the cast and producers of the "View" along with all of their viewers and set then adrift on an iceberg in the Bering Sea.

IQ of the nation would rise 100 points.

All PR is good PR just spell the name right.

Resie ODoughnuts.
Roberta Waawa
some other female dogs.

It is cheep to produce, has no competition, cheep to produce so you can't loose money even with low ratings. Left wing women viewers must be the most mindlessly consistent to keep this dreck on the air.

Just another day in which we as a nation sink futher into the gutter. Our acceptance of this "alternative lifestyle" becomes more prevalent by the minute.
